Summary

This GCC-spec 2024 Ford Taurus Trend offers a balanced combination of modern aesthetics and high-speed stability that has made it a top choice for professionals across the region. With 45,000 km, the mileage is perfectly in line with the high-usage demands of UAE highway commuting while maintaining the mechanical freshness of a late-model sedan. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the local market, offering better heat reflection than darker tones and excellent resale liquidity in the used market. Positioned as a mid-tier trim, the Trend provides the essential digital upgrades without the premium price tag of the Titanium, making it an ideal choice for those who prioritize cabin tech and comfort. For a buyer looking for a refined long-distance cruiser that handles 140 km/h highway stretches with ease, this Taurus is a standout opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2024 Ford Tauruses

With 45,000 km on the odometer, this Taurus sits within the expected range for a 2024 model in the GCC, where annual mileage often averages 25,000 km due to inter-emirate travel. The Lustrous Grey finish is a high-demand color in the secondary market, known for hiding dust during summer months and maintaining its value better than niche shades. Choosing a 2024 model ensures you are benefitting from the latest generation's chassis improvements and the full software suite of the 13.2-inch infotainment system.

TREND vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the Trend trim adds significant daily luxuries over the base Ambiente, most notably the upgraded seat upholstery and power-adjustable driver’s seat for improved ergonomic support on long drives. It also features dual-zone automatic climate control, which is essential for managing passenger comfort during peak GCC summer heat. Additionally, the Trend typically includes rear parking sensors and a high-definition camera, providing extra confidence when navigating tight urban parking spots in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Taurus vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Taurus leads rivals like the Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry in terms of pure interior volume and highway presence, offering a 'big car' feel that mimics more expensive luxury brands. Its 2.0L EcoBoost engine delivers 388 Nm of torque, providing superior mid-range overtaking power compared to the naturally aspirated engines found in entry-level competitors. The 520-litre boot capacity also outclasses several mid-size sedans, making it more suitable for airport runs and family weekend trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0L EcoBoost is impressive for a large sedan, averaging 15.3 km/L on GCC highways, though this will dip in heavy stop-start city traffic. Ford’s authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km to ensure the turbocharger remains protected from extreme heat. Historically, GCC-spec Taurus models retain approximately 60% of their value after three years, outperforming many American and European rivals in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 240 hp and 388 Nm of torque, enabling a verified 0-100 km/h time of 8.1 seconds, which is more than adequate for merging into fast-moving highway traffic. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, keeping RPMs low during high-speed cruising to maximize fuel efficiency and cabin quietness. Selectable drive modes, including Sport and Eco, allow you to prioritize either throttle response for the open road or efficiency for the morning commute.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is dominated by a massive 13.2-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch digital cluster, giving the interior a futuristic feel that rivals premium German sedans. Rear passengers benefit from class-leading legroom and dedicated AC vents, ensuring the car remains comfortable even when the external temperature exceeds 45°C. Sound insulation is a specific strength of this generation, significantly reducing wind and road noise during long-distance drives across the desert.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the Trend trim includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System that is vital for long desert drives. The Taurus is built on a high-strength steel chassis designed to meet modern crash standards, providing a secure environment for families. Features like Brake Assist and Electronic Brake-force Distribution come standard, ensuring reliable stopping power even in the emergency situations common on multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

This 2024 Taurus Trend is the perfect match for a UAE-based professional who needs a spacious, tech-forward sedan that excels at high-speed highway commuting while maintaining strong local resale value.
