Summary

This 2024 JAC S3 Plus represents a modern, efficient choice for urban commuting in the GCC, offering a sophisticated Red finish that maintains strong appeal in the local used market. With mileage that aligns perfectly with typical one-year UAE driving habits, this crossover remains in its prime mechanical window. The Intelligent Luxury trim elevates the experience with high-end tech usually reserved for larger SUVs, making it a standout for value-conscious buyers. Its compact dimensions paired with a surprisingly large boot make it an ideal companion for both city navigation and weekend errands. For the GCC owner, the blend of low running costs and a feature-rich cabin provides a stress-free entry into SUV ownership.

This Car vs Other 2024 JAC S3 Pluss

With approximately 45,000 km, this vehicle's usage is consistent with the higher annual mileage typically seen in the UAE due to frequent highway travel between emirates. While many sub-compact crossovers in the market carry lower mileage but older manufacturing dates, this 2024 model offers the benefit of the latest facelift and updated cabin tech. The Red exterior is a vibrant, premium choice that stands out from the common white and silver fleet, often assisting in quicker resale to individual buyers.

INTELLIGENT LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The Intelligent Luxury trim is a significant step up, adding essential GCC features like the 360-degree camera system for effortless parking in tight urban spaces. It replaces standard cloth with premium synthetic leather upholstery and upgrades the infotainment to a high-definition 8-inch touchscreen with mobile mirroring. Additionally, this trim includes a power sunroof and cruise control, features that are highly valued for resale and comfort during long highway stretches across the region.

S3 Plus vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the MG ZS or the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, the S3 Plus leads with a massive 600-litre boot capacity, offering significantly more cargo room for family trips or grocery runs. Its 1.6L engine is specifically tuned for efficiency, achieving a verified 6.5 L/100km which beats many larger-displacement competitors in the same bracket. The inclusion of a 360-degree camera as standard in this trim gives it a technological edge over base-model Japanese rivals that often lack advanced parking aids.

Running Costs & Resale

The JAC S3 Plus is one of the most economical crossovers to operate in the UAE, with a combined fuel economy of 6.5 L/100km that performs exceptionally well in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals are typically scheduled every 10,000 km, supported by the extensive Al Habtoor Motors service network across the UAE, ensuring parts availability and professional maintenance. While Chinese brands generally face higher initial depreciation than Japanese stalwarts, the S3 Plus's low entry price and high feature set help it maintain a stable value floor in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.6L VVT engine producing 118 HP, the S3 Plus is designed for smooth, predictable power delivery through its CVT automatic transmission. A top speed of 180 km/h ensures it is more than capable of maintaining pace on fast-moving UAE highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. With a ground clearance of approximately 155mm, it easily handles high speed bumps and uneven suburban roads, providing the elevated driving position SUV buyers crave without the bulk of a full-sized 4x4.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is focused on ergonomic comfort, featuring synthetic leather seats and a multi-function steering wheel that makes long commutes across the Emirates less fatiguing. The Intelligent Luxury trim ensures occupants stay cool with a powerful automatic climate control system and dedicated rear AC vents, a necessity for the harsh GCC summer. Cabin quietness is enhanced by acoustic insulation, while the 8-inch touchscreen and 6-speaker audio system provide a modern entertainment hub for all passengers.

Safety

Safety is a priority with a comprehensive suite that includes 360-degree surround-view cameras, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA). For family security, the S3 Plus comes standard with ISOFIX child seat anchors, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Hill Start Assist to prevent rolling on inclines. These active systems are particularly useful for navigating the fast-paced, multi-lane highway environment common throughout the GCC.

The bottom line

This 2024 S3 Plus is a savvy choice for a first-time SUV buyer or a small family looking for maximum features and modern styling at a fraction of the cost of its rivals.
