Summary

This 2024 JAC S3 Intelligent represents a highly strategic purchase in the GCC market, offering the technology of a modern crossover with low running costs. With 43,000 km on the clock, its usage is perfectly aligned with the typical highway-heavy driving patterns of the region for a two-year-old vehicle. The black exterior is a perennial favorite for resale value in the UAE, while the Intelligent trim adds premium touches like leatherette upholstery and a sunroof. For the practical GCC buyer, this model stands out by offering significantly more cargo volume than its direct sub-compact rivals. It is a dependable, tech-forward daily driver that handles city congestion and inter-emirate highway trips with equal ease.

This Car vs Other 2024 JAC S3s

At 43,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is average for a two-year-old car in the GCC, where annual distances often exceed global norms. This indicates a healthy balance of use, typically involving consistent highway cycles that are easier on the powertrain than short city bursts. The black finish remains one of the top three colors for resale strength in the regional used market.

INTELLIGENT vs Lower Trims

The Intelligent trim is the premium choice for this model, adding features that are essential for local comfort, including a power sunroof and a 360-degree camera system for easier parking in tight urban spots. Inside, you get a larger 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, along with cruise control which is a necessity for long desert highway hauls.

S3 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Renault Duster or Mitsubishi ASX, the S3 leads with a massive 600-litre boot capacity that outperforms almost everything in the sub-compact category. Its fuel-efficient 1.6L engine is specifically tuned for urban economy, making it a more cost-effective commuter than many of its larger-displacement competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 6.5 L/100km, offering excellent range from its 45-litre tank on long drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Authorized service centers like Al Habtoor Motors in the UAE provide extensive support, and the S3 typically retains approximately 70% of its value after three years. Parts availability is strong across the GCC, ensuring predictable long-term maintenance costs.

Performance & Capability

The 1.6L engine produces 120 hp, providing smooth and steady acceleration suited for the UAE's fast-moving multi-lane highways. With a top speed of 180 km/h and a refined CVT transmission, it maintains comfort during extended cruises across borders. The 200 mm ground clearance allows it to handle gravel tracks and speed bumps with more confidence than a standard sedan.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, featuring 60:40 split-folding rear seats and dedicated air conditioning vents that are vital for the GCC summer. The elevated seating position provides excellent visibility for highway lane changes, while the acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise. Black leatherette seats provide a premium feel while being durable enough for daily family use.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which is crucial for safety during high-temperature summer drives. It also features rear parking sensors and a 360° camera, providing an extra layer of protection in crowded parking areas. Front airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors come standard, ensuring peace of mind for small families.

The bottom line

This JAC S3 is an ideal opportunity for a young professional or small family looking for a nearly-new SUV that balances high-end tech with class-leading cargo space. It offers the best of the 'Intelligent' trim at a significant saving over new-car prices, backed by a strong regional service network.
