Summary

This 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Altitude trim offers a perfect balance of modern tech and rugged utility for the GCC driver. As a current-year model with a silver exterior, it benefits from one of the strongest resale colors in the region, ensuring better value retention. The Altitude trim stands out by standardizing desirable features like a power liftgate and wireless charging that often require expensive packages on rival SUVs. For those navigating the UAE's high-speed highways and occasional weekend adventures, its proven V6 powertrain provides reliable performance without the complexity of more expensive trims. This is a practical, style-forward choice for families who need a capable midsize SUV that handles the summer heat and long-distance drives with ease.

This Car vs Other 2024 Grand Cherokees

With 89,000 km, this vehicle’s mileage is higher than the typical GCC annual average for a 2024 model, reflecting consistent highway use. In the local market, silver is a top-tier resale color that resists the harsh summer sun and maintains its finish better than darker shades. This higher-mileage example offers a significant entry-price advantage for a buyer looking for a current-generation, mechanically sound SUV.

ALTITUDE vs Lower Trims

The Altitude trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base Laredo by standardizing a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and a wireless charging pad. GCC buyers will appreciate the remote start system, which allows the cabin to cool down before entry during peak summer months. It also features distinctive gloss black exterior accents and 18-inch wheels that give it a more premium, aggressive road presence.

Grand Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

The Grand Cherokee leads segment rivals like the Ford Explorer and Toyota Prado in terms of refined on-road manners and cabin technology integration. Its 87-litre fuel tank is specifically advantageous for long-distance cross-emirate drives, offering a longer highway range than many compact crossovers. While rivals may focus on either pure utility or pure comfort, the Jeep provides a versatile middle ground with a class-leading towing capacity.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.6L V6 typically averages around 11.3 L/100km combined, making it efficient for a midsize SUV on GCC highways. Jeep maintains a strong authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 to 12,000 km. Historically, the Grand Cherokee experiences a depreciation rate of approximately 12–15% annually in the GCC, holding its value well compared to European luxury SUV competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 293 hp Pentastar V6 is a regional favorite for its reliability and smooth power delivery during highway overtaking. It features the Quadra-Trac I 4WD system, providing full-time traction that is ideal for navigating gravel paths and rain-slicked city roads. With a verified towing capacity of 2,812 kg, it is more than capable of hauling jet skis or small trailers for weekend getaways.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat layout offers generous legroom and a dedicated rear-seat climate zone to ensure passenger comfort in the local climate. The cabin is centered around the Uconnect 5 system, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless navigation and media. High-quality materials and acoustic glass help keep the interior quiet and insulated from the noise of urban traffic and desert winds.

Safety

This Altitude trim comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite, including Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, which are essential for multi-lane highway driving. Adaptive Cruise Control and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning provide an extra layer of security on long desert stretches. It also features a full array of advanced airbags and a high-strength steel chassis designed for maximum occupant protection.

The bottom line

This 2024 Altitude is a smart opportunity for a GCC buyer seeking a current-gen SUV with a premium look and high-spec features at a more accessible price point due to its highway mileage.
