Summary

This 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE200 represents the first generation of a model that effectively replaces both the C-Class and E-Class Coupes, offering a larger and more refined footprint than its predecessors. With 74,000 km on the clock after two years, it has been driven frequently but benefits from a modern mild-hybrid powertrain that balances daily efficiency with smooth acceleration. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the GCC, ensuring stronger resale prospects and a classic executive look. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle extreme summer temperatures with optimized cooling systems and superior cabin insulation. For a buyer seeking the latest in German coupe design with integrated tech and a balanced drive, this is a sophisticated and practical opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2024 CLE200s

With 74,000 km over its 2-year lifespan, this car's mileage sits above the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, reflecting a history of active highway use between emirates. While the usage is higher than some garage-kept examples, the black-on-black color combination remains one of the most resilient for resale value in the UAE and Saudi markets. Buyers benefit from a car that has already transitioned through its initial steep depreciation phase while retaining its modern model-year relevance.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the entry point for this new lineage, the Standard trim is exceptionally well-equipped compared to previous base-model coupes, featuring the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a portrait-oriented 11.9-inch infotainment screen. It provides essential GCC luxury features including the 64-color ambient lighting system and high-resolution LED High Performance headlamps. While higher AMG Line trims focus on aesthetics and larger wheels, the Standard trim offers a more compliant ride quality better suited for long-distance highway cruising.

CLE200 vs Segment Rivals

The CLE200 competes directly with the BMW 4 Series and Audi A5, standing out by offering a longer wheelbase that provides superior high-speed stability on GCC motorways. Unlike some rivals that prioritize a stiff, sporty ride, the CLE bridges the gap between the agility of a C-Class and the refinement of an E-Class. Its 420-litre boot capacity is one of the most generous in the luxury coupe segment, making it more practical for regional road trips than its immediate competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The mild-hybrid 2.0L engine is optimized for efficiency, typically averaging around 7.2 L/100km in mixed conditions, though city figures will adjust to GCC stop-start traffic patterns. Service intervals are generally every 15,000 km or 12 months at authorized centers across the UAE and wider GCC, ensuring long-term mechanical reliability. Being a new model lineage, the CLE is expected to follow a premium depreciation curve, though black GCC-spec examples typically retain 5–7% more value than non-regional imports over a three-year period.

Performance & Capability

The CLE200 reaches a verified top speed of 240 km/h, delivering 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque through a refined 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The rear-wheel-drive configuration ensures classic coupe handling dynamics, while the 48V mild-hybrid system provides a silent start and a torque boost during overtaking. This setup is particularly effective for smooth, effortless cruising on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi E11 highway, maintaining composure even in high ambient temperatures.

Comfort & Cabin

The four-seat interior is focused on the 'grand touring' experience, utilizing high-quality insulation to shield passengers from external desert heat and road noise. Standard technology includes the latest 3rd Generation MBUX system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, integrated into a driver-centric cockpit. The 420-litre cargo area is complemented by folding rear backrests, offering enough versatility for more than just a weekend bag, which is rare for a sleek two-door silhouette.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning, and the Pre-Safe system which prepares the cabin for an imminent collision. For the GCC driver, the Attention Assist system is particularly valuable for long, monotonous desert drives, monitoring for signs of fatigue. The vehicle is equipped with seven airbags and a high-strength body structure that meets the latest international safety standards for occupant protection.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec CLE200 is a perfect match for a professional seeking the prestige of a brand-new Mercedes lineage with the added benefit of a high-resale color and a modern, tech-forward cabin.
