Summary

This 2024 Mercedes Benz S 680 MAYBACH represents a rare opportunity to acquire the pinnacle of German automotive engineering with exceptionally low mileage for the GCC market. Finding a V12-powered sedan in such pristine condition is becoming increasingly difficult as manufacturers shift toward smaller engines, making this a standout choice for the serious collector or executive. The blue exterior offers a sophisticated alternative to the common black or white, holding strong resale appeal for those seeking a unique yet prestigious presence on the road. Compared to its rivals, this model offers a level of cabin isolation and rear-seat refinement that is unmatched in the ultra-luxury segment. For a buyer in the GCC, the combination of a massive 6.0L engine for effortless highway cruising and the full factory-backed GCC specification ensures complete peace of mind. This vehicle is perfectly suited for those who prioritize absolute comfort and mechanical excellence above all else.

This Car vs Other 2024 S 680s

While many 2024 models in the UAE and wider GCC quickly accumulate high mileage due to frequent inter-city travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this specific S 680 has been driven sparingly. With only 14,000 km on the odometer, it sits well below the regional annual average of 20,000–25,000 km, meaning the mechanical components are barely through their initial break-in period. The blue paintwork is a highly desirable choice in the local market, offering a distinguished look that stands out in a sea of monochrome luxury cars without sacrificing resale liquidity. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it has been optimized from the factory for the unique demands of the Middle Eastern climate, unlike imported North American or European models. This ensures the cooling systems and interior materials are prepared for the intense heat of a Gulf summer, making it a safer long-term investment than its non-regional counterparts. Buyers will find that the condition of the cabin and the exterior reflects its limited use, presenting almost as a brand-new vehicle.

MAYBACH vs Lower Trims

Choosing the MAYBACH trim over a standard S-Class is a move into an entirely different echelon of luxury. While the S 580 is an impressive machine, the S 680 introduces the legendary 6.0L V12 engine, a masterpiece of engineering that provides a level of smoothness and torque that V8 models simply cannot replicate. This trim extends the wheelbase significantly, dedicating that extra space entirely to rear-seat passengers who enjoy executive throne-like seating with calf rests and massage functions. You also gain the Burmester High-End 4D Surround Sound system as standard, which uses exciters in the seats to create a physical connection to the music. The interior is upgraded with significantly more leather coverage, including the headliner and pillars, and features unique pinstriped wood garnishes that are exclusive to this level of craftsmanship. For the GCC driver, the MAYBACH also includes superior acoustic glazing and additional insulation, ensuring the cabin remains a silent sanctuary even when driving at high speeds on the E11 highway.

S 680 vs Segment Rivals

The Mercedes Benz S 680 MAYBACH competes in a rarefied air against the likes of the Rolls-Royce Ghost and the Bentley Flying Spur. While the British rivals lean heavily into traditional coachbuilding, the S 680 leads the segment with its integration of cutting-edge technology and daily usability. Its All Wheel Drive system provides more confident handling during the occasional heavy rain or on sandy coastal roads compared to some rear-wheel-drive competitors. The MBUX infotainment system is widely considered the most intuitive and advanced in the world, offering a seamless user experience that its rivals struggle to match. Furthermore, the sheer density of the Mercedes-Benz service network across the GCC—from Riyadh to Muscat—means that maintaining an S 680 is significantly more convenient than looking after a more boutique brand. It offers a larger trunk than many of its competitors, making it a more practical choice for those who travel between Emirates with luggage or golf sets.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a V12-powered sedan in the GCC is a statement of intent, and while fuel consumption is higher than a standard sedan, the 612 hp engine is surprisingly efficient during long-distance highway cruises thanks to its advanced cylinder management. In stop-start traffic in downtown Dubai or Riyadh, the fuel consumption will naturally increase, but the large fuel tank ensures a respectable range between fills. Being a GCC-spec car, it retains its value far better than any 'grey market' import, as local buyers and dealers prioritize the official warranty and regional cooling packages. Depreciation for a MAYBACH is typical for the ultra-luxury segment, generally seeing a 15% dip annually, but this is often offset by the high demand for low-mileage, well-maintained examples in the secondary market. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or once a year, and with authorized service centers located in every major GCC city, professional maintenance is always within reach. This vehicle’s status as one of the last remaining V12 engines from Mercedes-Benz suggests it will hold a 'modern classic' status, potentially slowing its long-term depreciation curve compared to V8 or V6 alternatives.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is its hand-built 6.0L V12 engine, producing a massive 612 hp and 900 Nm of torque. This allows the heavy sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, providing a surge of power that feels more like a private jet taking off than a car accelerating. The 4MATIC All Wheel Drive system ensures that this power is delivered smoothly to the road, providing exceptional grip even on dusty surfaces. On the wide, open highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the S 680 is in its element, offering effortless overtaking capabilities at any speed. The rear-axle steering makes this long-wheelbase car surprisingly nimble in tight city corners, reducing the turning circle to that of a much smaller car. The air suspension, known as Magic Body Control, scans the road ahead and adjusts the damping in milliseconds to iron out any imperfections, ensuring a flat and stable ride at all times. This is a car designed for high-speed trans-continental travel, where comfort and performance must coexist perfectly.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the S 680 MAYBACH is a masterclass in ergonomics and sensory luxury. It features five seats, though it is optimized for the two rear passengers who are treated to ventilated, heated, and multi-contour massaging seats. The GCC climate is easily handled by one of the most powerful air conditioning systems in the industry, featuring multi-zone climate control that allows every passenger to select their own micro-climate. The cabin is bathed in natural light thanks to the panoramic sunroof, which features high-quality tinting to block out the harsh Arabian sun. Noise insulation is world-class, utilizing active noise cancellation through the Burmester speakers to negate road and wind noise almost entirely. Soft-close doors and electric sunblinds for the rear windows add an extra layer of privacy and convenience for executive passengers. Every touchpoint is finished in premium Nappa leather or genuine wood, creating an environment that feels both artisanal and technologically advanced.

Safety

Safety in the S 680 is comprehensive, featuring the full suite of Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive systems as standard. This includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, which is a life-saver in the heavy traffic found on the Sheikh Zayed Road. The Active Steering Assist and Lane Keeping Assist work together to provide a semi-autonomous driving experience that significantly reduces driver fatigue on long desert stretches. For city driving, the 360-degree camera system with 3D visualization makes parking this large sedan effortless. It also features innovative rear-seat airbags, a rarity in the industry, providing enhanced protection for the principal passengers. Blind-spot monitoring and Pre-Safe Impulse Side—which can slightly move the driver or passenger away from a side impact—are essential features for navigating the fast-moving multi-lane highways of the region. This vehicle doesn't just meet safety standards; it sets them, ensuring that all five occupants are protected by the most advanced technology currently available.

The bottom line

This 2024 S 680 MAYBACH is the definitive choice for a buyer who wants the very best of the internal combustion era before it's gone. With its low mileage and GCC-spec pedigree, it is a secure investment for an executive or collector looking for unparalleled luxury and V12 prestige.
