Summary

This MG HS Luxury stands out as a high-specification all-wheel-drive crossover that offers premium features often reserved for much more expensive segments. With its striking Red exterior and the range-topping Luxury trim, it remains a highly desirable option in the GCC used market for those prioritizing modern cabin tech and safety. The 2.0L turbocharged engine provides a significant performance boost over the base 1.5L models, ensuring effortless highway cruising across the Emirates. For a 2024 model, it represents a modern, tech-forward choice for small families or young professionals seeking maximum features for their investment.

This Car vs Other 2024 HSs

With just under 35,000 km, this vehicle sits within the expected mileage range for a GCC-based 2024 model, where annual driving typically averages 20,000 to 25,000 km. The Red paint is a bold, high-visibility choice that helps it stand out from the sea of white and silver crossovers, often appealing to buyers looking for a more personalized aesthetic. As a top-tier Luxury trim with All-Wheel Drive, it offers a more stable and premium driving experience than the more common front-wheel-drive base variants.

LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The Luxury trim adds several high-value features that GCC buyers prioritize, including the expansive panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera system for easier urban parking. Inside, you benefit from upgraded leather-style seating with electric adjustments for both the driver and passenger, alongside a larger digital instrument cluster. It also includes the full MG Pilot safety suite, providing adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring which are essential for long highway commutes between cities.

HS vs Segment Rivals

The MG HS competes directly with the Haval H6 and Changan CS75 Plus, leading the segment by offering a 231 hp 2.0L turbocharged engine as standard in this trim, whereas many rivals focus on smaller 1.5L units. Its cabin design leans heavily into European aesthetics with soft-touch materials and turbine-style vents that provide a more premium feel than the utilitarian interiors of some Japanese competitors. Furthermore, its comprehensive 6-year/200,000 km regional warranty coverage remains one of the strongest value propositions in the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0L AWD model averages approximately 8.6 L/100km, making it efficient for highway journeys but slightly thirstier in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals are set at 10,000 km, with a wide authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensuring easy maintenance. While Chinese brands typically see higher initial depreciation than Japanese stalwarts, the HS maintains stable value in the GCC due to its high feature-to-price ratio and the transferable nature of its long-term warranty.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine produces a robust 231 hp and 360 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.8 seconds. The All-Wheel Drive system provides added confidence during heavy rain or when navigating gravel roads during weekend escapes. It is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission designed for smooth shifts at highway speeds, making it a capable companion for long-distance drives across GCC borders.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC summer comfort, featuring a powerful dual-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. The sports-style seats provide excellent lateral support for long drives, while the 10.1-inch touchscreen offers seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise and the intense desert heat, creating a refined environment for daily commuting.

Safety

This Luxury trim is equipped with six airbags and a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, ensuring top-tier protection for all occupants. The standard MG Pilot suite includes Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist, which are particularly valuable on fast-moving multi-lane highways. Additionally, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection provide essential visibility in crowded urban environments.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants every modern luxury and safety feature without the premium brand price tag, this low-mileage 2024 MG HS Luxury AWD is an unbeatable value-for-money opportunity in the current market.
