Summary

This silver MG ZS is an excellent entry point into the compact SUV segment, offering a modern aesthetic and contemporary features for the 2024 model year. With just under 39,000 km, it has been driven reasonably for the GCC market, where highway commutes often inflate annual mileage significantly. The 1.5L engine is specifically tuned for urban efficiency, making it a smart choice for daily driving in high-traffic areas like Dubai or Riyadh. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it provides full peace of mind regarding climate adaptation and local serviceability. For buyers looking for a balance of tech-forward interiors and accessible running costs, this ZS stands out as a practical, style-conscious commuter.

This Car vs Other 2024 ZSs

With 38,932 km on the clock, this ZS has seen average usage typical for a GCC commuter, where annual distances often reach 25,000 km. Its silver exterior is widely considered one of the strongest resale colors in the region, offering both heat-reflective properties and high demand in the used market. Choosing a 2024 model ensures you are benefiting from the latest interior refinements and infotainment software updates.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim on the 2024 ZS ensures you aren't missing out on the essential tech GCC buyers prioritize, including a large 12.3-inch touchscreen and full smartphone integration. While it serves as the accessible entry point, it still retains the key comfort features like rear parking sensors and cruise control which are often optional on base models in this segment. It provides the full SUV aesthetic with roof rails and LED lighting without the higher maintenance costs of turbochargers or larger alloy wheels.

ZS vs Segment Rivals

The MG ZS competes directly with the Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks, leading the way in terms of standard screen size and cabin technology for the price. It offers a 443-litre boot that outperforms many sub-compact crossovers, making it more viable for small family road trips. Additionally, the MG's aggressive warranty and service support across the UAE and Saudi Arabia make it a safer bet for long-term ownership compared to less established brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption for the 1.5L engine averages approximately 6.5 to 7.0 L/100km, which is highly efficient for GCC city driving and stop-start traffic. Service intervals are set at 10,000 km, and MG’s expanding network of authorized centers ensures parts and expertise are readily available across the Emirates and neighboring countries. The ZS enjoys stable demand in the pre-owned market, typically experiencing a depreciation rate of 15-18% annually, which is competitive for its class.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine delivers a smooth and predictable 112 hp, paired with an automatic transmission designed for comfort rather than raw speed. It is perfectly suited for navigating city traffic and maintaining stable speeds on the E11 or other major GCC highways. With its front-wheel-drive setup and light steering, it offers easy maneuverability in tight parking spots and narrow urban streets.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to maximize space, offering a genuinely usable second row for three passengers and dedicated rear AC vents—a vital feature for the GCC summer. The infotainment system is the centerpiece, featuring a high-resolution display that handles navigation and media seamlessly. Silver exterior paint helps keep the cabin cooler during peak afternoon heat, while the fabric seating is durable and practical for regional conditions.

Safety

Standard safety features on this 2024 model include multiple airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Emergency Brake Assist to handle sudden stops in fast-moving highway traffic. It also features a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Hill Start Assist, providing additional confidence during varied driving scenarios. Rear parking sensors are standard, aiding in safer urban navigation and parking.

The bottom line

This 2024 MG ZS is the ideal choice for a young professional or a small family seeking a tech-rich, GCC-ready SUV with moderate mileage and high resale potential.
