Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Trail SL offers a nearly-new ownership experience with just 1,709 km on the odometer, representing a significant saving over showroom prices while remaining in pristine mechanical condition. As the top-tier SL trim, it provides a luxury-grade cabin featuring semi-aniline leather and a premium Bose audio system that elevates it above typical mid-size crossovers. The crisp white exterior is the most practical choice for the GCC climate, offering superior heat reflection and maintaining the highest resale demand in the region. With its fuel-efficient 2.5L engine and advanced ProPILOT driver assistance, this X-Trail is perfectly suited for both the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh and long-distance cruises across the Emirates. It stands out as a versatile family hub that combines Japanese reliability with the latest in safety technology.

This Car vs Other 2024 X-Trails

With only 1,709 km, this vehicle is essentially in its break-in period, offering a massive mileage advantage over the typical 20,000 km annual average seen in the GCC used market. The white exterior is a strategic choice for local buyers, as it is the most sought-after color for maintaining high resale value and managing cabin temperatures during peak summer months. Finding an SL trim in this 'delivery-mileage' condition allows you to bypass showroom waiting lists while securing a flagship specification.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the SV and S models by introducing premium touches like semi-aniline leather upholstery and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It includes high-value features for the GCC, such as the 360-degree Around View Monitor and a motion-activated power tailgate that adds daily convenience. Additionally, the SL is the only trim to feature the full ProPILOT Assist suite and a head-up display, providing a level of tech-focused safety that lower trims lack.

X-Trail vs Segment Rivals

While the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V are its primary competitors, the X-Trail leads on interior flexibility and high-tech standard equipment at a more competitive price point. Its 2.5L engine is specifically tuned for smooth, linear power delivery that excels during highway overtaking on multi-lane GCC roads. Unlike some rivals, the X-Trail's 'Zero Gravity' seats are designed for long-distance comfort, making it a superior choice for cross-country trips between cities like Abu Dhabi and Muscat.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for this 2.5L powertrain is highly competitive for the segment, averaging approximately 6.2 L/100km on combined cycles, which helps offset the costs of frequent long-distance driving. Nissan's extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC ensures that maintenance is affordable and parts are readily available. The X-Trail historically retains about 70% of its value after three years in the local market, benefiting from Nissan's reputation for durability and the high demand for white GCC-spec SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 181 hp and 244 Nm of torque, delivering a smooth driving experience through a refined Xtronic CVT. This front-wheel-drive configuration is optimized for road efficiency, providing ample power for navigating city traffic and maintaining steady speeds on long desert highways. With a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 9.3 seconds, it offers the necessary responsiveness for safe merging and overtaking in fast-moving traffic environments.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a standout for the 2024 model year, featuring a three-zone climate control system that ensures rapid cooling for all passengers even in 45°C+ summer heat. The SL trim’s panoramic sunroof adds an airy feel to the interior, while the premium 10-speaker Bose audio system provides exceptional sound insulation from road noise. Practicality is a priority, with wide-opening rear doors that make loading family gear or child seats effortless, alongside a flexible cargo system.

Safety

Safety is anchored by Nissan Intelligent Mobility, featuring ProPILOT Assist which combines adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance for stress-free highway driving. The SL trim comes standard with six airbags, blind-spot intervention, and rear cross-traffic alert, which are essential for navigating the high-speed multi-lane roads common in major GCC cities. The inclusion of Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking provides an extra layer of security for family-focused owners.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a flagship SUV with showroom-fresh mileage and maximum tech specs, this GCC-spec X-Trail SL is a top-tier opportunity that avoids the initial depreciation of a brand-new car.
