Summary

This 2024 Peugeot 3008 Active offers a modern European alternative to the typical SUV landscape, pairing sharp French design with a punchy 1.6-litre turbocharged engine. With mileage that reflects typical highway use across the Emirates, it remains a fresh and mechanically sound choice for those entering the latest model year. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, balancing heat rejection with strong resale appeal. Inside, the i-Cockpit layout provides a tech-forward feel that punches well above its class. For the GCC buyer, it delivers a sophisticated city presence while maintaining the long-range efficiency needed for cross-country drives.

This Car vs Other 2024 Peugeot 3008s

At 76,598 km, this 3008 has been driven slightly above the regional average for a one-year-old vehicle, likely due to consistent highway commuting between emirates. In the GCC market, this level of use is often viewed as a sign of mechanical reliability, as modern Peugeot turbos benefit from regular operation over sitting idle in heat. The Grey metallic finish is among the top-tier colors for resale value in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, resisting dust and sun-fade better than darker alternatives.

ACTIVE vs Lower Trims

The Active trim serves as the essential entry point into the Peugeot experience, but still includes premium hardware like the 12.3-inch digital head-up display and an 8-inch central touchscreen. While higher trims add leather and panoramic roofs, the Active focuses on core GCC priorities like powerful dual-zone climate control and highly durable fabric seating that stays cooler in summer. It retains the same 6-speed automatic and turbocharged engine as higher trims, ensuring no compromise on daily performance.

3008 vs Segment Rivals

The 3008 leads rivals like the Kia Sportage and Toyota RAV4 in cabin design and ergonomics, offering the unique compact steering wheel setup that improves visibility on high-speed highways. Its turbocharged 165 hp engine provides more immediate torque than the naturally aspirated units found in many Japanese competitors, making lane merging effortless. While some rivals offer more raw cargo volume, the 3008's flat-loading 520-litre boot is more accessible for daily grocery runs and school equipment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for the 1.6T engine typically settles around 7.7 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, providing a balance of efficiency and power. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km in the region to account for extreme temperatures, with an extensive authorized service network across the UAE (Swaidan) and KSA (Almajdouie). European SUVs in this segment generally see a 12-15% annual depreciation in the GCC, though the 3008's high demand in the used market helps it hold value better than older French models.

Performance & Capability

A top speed of 206 km/h ensures this SUV remains composed and quiet during long-distance drives across the UAE. The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine delivers 240 Nm of torque early in the rev range, which is particularly useful for quick overtakes on multi-lane highways. As a front-wheel-drive crossover, it is optimized for road comfort and fuel savings rather than sand dunes, though its generous ground clearance handles gravel tracks and high speed bumps with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is defined by the Peugeot i-Cockpit, which places the digital instrument cluster directly in the driver's line of sight to reduce eye strain. Dedicated rear cooling vents ensure that all five passengers remain comfortable during July peaks, while the cabin insulation is specifically designed to minimize road noise at 120 km/h. The Active trim's fabric seats are specifically chosen for their breathability, a critical advantage for comfort during the hottest months of the year.

Safety

Safety is a primary pillar of the 3008, which carries a 5-star Euro NCAP heritage and comes standard with six airbags covering the front and sides. The Active trim includes essential ADAS features for GCC traffic, such as Cruise Control, Speed Limiter, and Rear Parking Sensors with a high-definition camera. Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Start Assist are also standard, providing an extra layer of security when navigating steep ramps or wet roads after seasonal rains.

The bottom line

This 2024 Peugeot 3008 Active is the ideal choice for a tech-savvy professional or small family looking for European style and turbocharged efficiency without the premium price tag of higher trims.
