Summary

This 2024 RAM 1500 TRX represents the final chapter of the super-truck era, offering a combination of raw power and daily usability that is becoming increasingly rare in the GCC market. With its supercharged 6.2L V8 delivering 711 hp, it stands as the most powerful mass-produced pickup ever, comfortably outclassing the Ford Raptor in both straight-line speed and towing confidence. The mileage is remarkably low for a GCC-based vehicle of this caliber, suggesting it has been used more as a weekend trophy than a high-mileage workhorse. The vibrant Orange exterior is a high-demand color for the TRX, ensuring strong visibility and even stronger resale interest in a market that appreciates bold, performance-oriented aesthetics. For the GCC buyer, this truck offers the perfect balance of a desert-conquering machine and a high-status highway cruiser that commands respect from Dubai to Riyadh. Ownership of a TRX is a significant statement, and with production of the V8 TRX models ending, this specific listing is a blue-chip investment for those who want the peak of American engineering before the transition to smaller engines.

This Car vs Other 2024 RAM 1500s

When comparing this specific unit to other 2024 RAM 1500 models available in the GCC, the mileage of 33,100 km is significantly below the regional annual average of 25,000 km, placing it in the top tier of well-maintained examples. While many RAM trucks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are utilized for heavy commuting between emirates or cities, this vehicle's odometer indicates more selective use, preserving the mechanical integrity of its high-stress supercharged components. The GCC specification is a critical advantage here, as it ensures the cooling system, radiator, and air conditioning are all optimized for the extreme 45°C+ temperatures experienced during the peak of the Arabian summer. Unlike imported North American units, this truck comes with the peace of mind of local dealer support and a software configuration tailored for regional maps and radio frequencies. The Orange paintwork is not just a stylistic choice but a strategic one for the used market, as limited-run performance colors on the TRX tend to hold their value better than standard white or silver fleet colors. This combination of low usage and regional optimization makes it a standout choice for a buyer who prioritizes longevity and future resale value.

TRX vs Lower Trims

Moving from a standard RAM 1500 Limited or Rebel to the TRX is a transformational experience that goes far beyond a simple engine swap. The TRX features a high-strength steel frame that is 74% different from the standard RAM, designed specifically to handle the massive torque and high-speed desert jumps that the GCC terrain demands. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with a flat-bottom performance steering wheel, carbon fiber accents, and Alcantara-trimmed seats that provide much-needed grip during spirited driving. Tech-wise, the TRX includes a Head-Up Display and a digital rearview mirror which are often optional or unavailable on lower trims, providing essential visibility when the bed is loaded or during dusty off-road excursions. The most significant upgrade is the Bilstein Black Hawk e2 active damping system, which continuously adjusts to terrain, providing a cloud-like ride on the Sheikh Zayed Road while remaining stiff and controlled in the dunes. For the GCC driver, the TRX also provides superior cooling capacity for the engine and transmission, ensuring that the 711 hp is available even under the most punishing heat conditions.

RAM 1500 vs Segment Rivals

In the high-performance pickup segment, the RAM 1500 TRX faces off primarily against the Ford F-150 Raptor and the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, but it consistently leads in several key metrics valued by GCC owners. While the standard Raptor utilizes a V6, the TRX’s 6.2L Supercharged V8 provides a visceral soundtrack and a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.5 seconds, which remains the benchmark for the class. The RAM’s interior is widely considered the most luxurious in the segment, featuring a 12-inch vertical touchscreen that is more intuitive and premium than the layouts found in its Detroit rivals. In terms of desert capability, the TRX's wider track and 11.8 inches of ground clearance provide a level of high-speed stability that the Silverado ZR2 cannot match. Additionally, the TRX offers a superior towing capacity of approximately 3,674 kg, making it a more versatile tool for those who need to haul boats or horse trailers across the UAE. The massive fuel tank is another advantage over smaller-displacement rivals, allowing for longer stretches between petrol stations during cross-country drives from Abu Dhabi to Muscat.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a vehicle with 711 hp requires an understanding of its specialized maintenance needs, though the TRX is surprisingly manageable within the GCC infrastructure. Real-world fuel consumption typically hovers around 19L/100km in mixed driving, reflecting the power of the supercharged V8; however, on long highway stretches at 120 km/h, the truck becomes more efficient than expected. It requires high-octane Super 98 fuel to maintain peak performance and engine health, which is readily available at every ADNOC, ENOC, or Aramco station. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km, and the GCC service network for RAM is robust, with major authorized centers in every major city from Dubai to Kuwait City ensuring parts like specialized air filters and high-performance synthetic oils are always in stock. Historically, the TRX has shown the lowest depreciation in its class, often retaining up to 85% of its value after three years due to its status as a collector's item and the end of V8 production. This makes it one of the safest financial bets in the luxury truck market, as demand for the 'Hellcat-powered' RAM continues to outstrip supply in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The performance of the TRX is nothing short of legendary, anchored by the supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 that produces a staggering 711 hp and 881 Nm of torque. This power is managed by a heavy-duty 8HP95 8-speed automatic transmission that can execute lightning-fast shifts on the highway or provide crawl-ratio precision in the sand. The truck is equipped with eight different drive modes, including 'Baja' for high-speed desert running and 'Sand' for the soft dunes of the Liwa Desert, which recalibrates the 4WD system and traction control for maximum flotation. With a top speed of 190 km/h (electronically limited due to the specialized 35-inch all-terrain tires), it is as fast as many sports cars while possessing the ability to ford 32 inches of water. The jump-detection system is a unique feature that senses when the truck is airborne and adjusts engine speed and damping to ensure a smooth, safe landing. This level of capability makes it the ultimate vehicle for the GCC lifestyle, where a Friday morning could involve a 200 km highway cruise followed by an afternoon of technical dune bashing.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside the RAM 1500 TRX, the environment is more akin to a high-end luxury SUV than a rugged pickup, featuring premium leather upholstery and meticulous stitching throughout. The 5-seat cabin offers class-leading legroom, particularly in the rear, where passengers enjoy a flat floor and reclining seats that are a rarity in the truck segment. For the GCC climate, the TRX comes standard with highly effective ventilated front and rear seats, ensuring comfort even when the vehicle has been parked in the direct sun. The dual-zone climate control is exceptionally powerful, capable of cooling the large cabin in minutes, supported by dedicated rear vents and a massive panoramic sunroof that features heat-reflective glass. Audiophiles will appreciate the 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, which is specifically tuned to overcome the roar of the supercharged engine and the 35-inch tires. Extensive sound deadening and acoustic glass make the cabin remarkably quiet during long highway drives, allowing for easy conversation even at high speeds.

Safety

Safety in the TRX is comprehensive, utilizing a mix of massive physical presence and advanced driver assistance systems to protect its occupants. The truck is equipped with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, which is a lifesaver during the heavy traffic flow between Sharjah and Dubai. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path and trailer detection is essential for a vehicle of this width, providing the driver with confidence when changing lanes on fast-moving six-lane highways. The 360-degree Surround View Camera provides a bird's-eye perspective that is vital for parking in tight mall spaces or navigating through narrow wadi gaps. Standard safety features also include Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus, which can autonomously apply the brakes if a potential impact is detected. For off-road safety, the heavy-duty skid plates protect vital underbody components from rocks and debris, while the electronic stability control is specifically tuned to prevent rollovers in a high-center-of-gravity vehicle, ensuring maximum safety on both asphalt and sand.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who wants the absolute peak of internal combustion performance, this low-mileage, GCC-spec TRX in high-visibility Orange is the definitive choice. It is a rare opportunity to own a future classic that is as comfortable on a daily commute as it is conquering the deepest dunes of the Empty Quarter.
