Summary

This 2024 Suzuki Jimny GLX in the desirable Jungle Green represents a unique opportunity to own the modern 5-door variant with typical GCC highway mileage. As the higher GLX trim, it bridges the gap between legendary off-road ruggedness and daily usability with upgraded tech and safety standard. The Jimny remains in a class of its own for regional buyers, offering genuine desert capability that larger crossovers simply cannot match. Its Jungle Green finish is widely considered the most iconic and sought-after color for resale in the Middle East. For a buyer looking for a characterful 4x4 that holds its value better than almost anything else on the road, this is the benchmark choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 Suzuki Jimnys

With 70,526 km, this Jimny has been utilized as a primary vehicle for regional commuting, which is common for the expanded 5-door model. While the mileage is higher than occasional weekend toys, the 2024 model year benefit ensures you are getting the latest 9-inch infotainment and 360-degree camera system. The Jungle Green exterior is a premier resale asset in the GCC, often commanding a quicker sale than white or silver alternatives.

GLX vs Lower Trims

The GLX trim is the definitive choice for GCC owners, adding essential climate and tech features over the base GL. This includes the larger 9-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity and the critical 360-degree camera system, which is invaluable for both tight urban parking and precise wheel placement off-road. Additionally, the GLX features LED projector headlamps and automatic climate control, which are vital for night visibility and maintaining cabin temperatures during peak summer.

Jimny vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Toyota Rush or Mitsubishi ASX offer more seating, the Jimny leads significantly in off-road hardware with its ladder-frame chassis and dedicated low-range transfer case. No other vehicle in this price bracket provides 210 mm of ground clearance paired with the ability to tackle soft sand dunes. Its compact dimensions also give it a tighter turning circle of 11.4 meters compared to larger ladder-frame SUVs, making it far more maneuverable in city traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

The Jimny is one of the most cost-effective 4x4s to maintain in the GCC, with an extensive authorized service network stretching across all emirates and neighboring countries. Real-world fuel consumption typically averages between 7.5 and 9.0 L/100km, depending on highway speeds and AC usage. Historically, the Jimny retains value exceptionally well in the UAE, often seeing depreciation rates as low as 5-8% annually, significantly outperforming European compact crossovers.

Performance & Capability

Performance is defined by the 210 mm ground clearance and the ALLGRIP PRO 4WD system, which allows the driver to shift into 4L for maximum torque on challenging terrain. The 1.5-liter engine is optimized for reliability and low-end tractability rather than top speed, making it perfectly suited for the technical demands of Liwa or Fossil Rock. The 5-door's longer wheelbase provides improved stability on the E11 highway compared to the shorter 3-door variant.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GLX provides a surprisingly modern environment with a digital-focused cockpit and rear AC vents, a feature specifically added to the 5-door to combat the GCC heat. The four-seat layout offers significantly more legroom in the rear than the standard model, while the 9-inch display serves as the hub for navigation and media. The cabin is designed with rugged, easy-to-clean materials that are ideal for owners who transition frequently from city streets to sandy trails.

Safety

This GLX trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags (front, side, and curtain), which is a significant upgrade over the two-airbag base models. Standard safety features include ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) to maintain control on gravel and loose surfaces. The 360-degree camera provides a top-down view that helps avoid low-lying obstacles whether you are navigating high-curbed parking lots or rocky wadi paths.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who needs the extra doors but won't sacrifice genuine off-road heritage, this 2024 GLX is a proven, reliable choice in the market's favorite color.
