Summary

This 2024 Tesla Model Y Performance offers a high-voltage blend of supercar-rivaling acceleration and family-friendly crossover utility. With its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 437 hp, it stands at the top of the Model Y hierarchy, providing instant response that makes highway overtaking across the Emirates effortless. Finished in a high-resale Solid Black, this GCC-spec example has been driven approximately 33,000 km, placing it well within the expected usage for a modern EV in the region. For a buyer in the GCC, the combination of Tesla’s dedicated Supercharger network and the Performance trim's sharpened handling makes this one of the most practical yet exhilarating daily drivers available today.

This Car vs Other 2024 Model Ys

With 33,101 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been used as a primary commuter, sitting right near the average annual mileage for GCC-based cars. The Solid Black exterior is one of the most sought-after colors for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring better value retention than more niche shades. Being a GCC-spec 2024 model, it benefits from the full local warranty and seamless connectivity with the region's Tesla app services and charging infrastructure.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim transforms the Model Y with significant hardware upgrades, including lowered suspension for better stability at high speeds and upsized 21-inch Überturbine wheels. Inside, it features the premium carbon fiber spoiler and aluminum alloy pedals, while the software-unlocked Performance Brakes provide superior stopping power. Unlike the Long Range or RWD trims, this version prioritizes rapid power delivery, cutting more than a second off the standard acceleration times.

Model Y vs Segment Rivals

The Model Y Performance leads rivals like the BMW iX3 and Kia EV6 GT by offering superior integration with the region's fast-charging network, particularly the Superchargers at major malls and highway stops. While competitors often struggle with software lag, Tesla’s infotainment remains the segment leader for speed and OTA updates. Its boot space is also notably more generous than most European electric crossovers, accommodating full family luggage for cross-border trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world energy consumption in the GCC typically averages around 18-20 kWh/100km, though this can increase during peak summer months when the cabin cooling works at maximum capacity. Maintenance costs are exceptionally low compared to petrol-powered SUVs, with service centers located in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Jeddah. Historically, the Model Y holds its value better than most luxury electric rivals in the UAE, typically seeing a depreciation of 12-15% in its first two years.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 3.7-second 0-100 km/h sprint, which provides immediate confidence for merging onto fast-moving multi-lane highways like the E11. The All-Wheel Drive system intelligently shifts torque between the front and rear motors, ensuring maximum grip even on sand-dusted road surfaces. With a top speed of 250 km/h, it maintains a level of composure at highway limits that standard crossovers simply cannot match.

Comfort & Cabin

The minimalist cabin is designed for five passengers, featuring a massive 15-inch touchscreen that controls everything from the powerful dual-zone climate system to navigation. The glass roof is treated with infrared and ultraviolet protection to shield occupants from the intense GCC sun, while the high-fidelity 13-speaker audio system provides an immersive experience. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air vents and a flat floor, making long drives between emirates comfortable for three adults in the back.

Safety

Safety is paramount with a 5-star rating from Euro NCAP and NHTSA, supported by a comprehensive ADAS suite that includes Autopilot features. Standard safety tech includes emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system that is vital for navigating tight parking spots in major GCC cities. The low center of gravity provided by the floor-mounted battery pack significantly reduces rollover risk, a key advantage for this SUV body style.

The bottom line

For the tech-focused driver who refuses to sacrifice speed for utility, this 2024 Performance trim is a highly capable, GCC-ready EV that looks and drives like new.
