Summary

This 2024 Toyota Camry 40th Anniversary Edition represents the peak of the model's V6 generation, offering a level of mechanical refinement that is increasingly rare in the sedan segment. With average annual mileage for the GCC, this black-on-black example is in the most desirable resale configuration for the local market. The 40th Anniversary trim is a collector's nod to four decades of dominance, pairing the smooth 301-hp power of the V6 with a premium features list typically reserved for top-tier luxury models. For the GCC buyer, this is a sensible but powerful daily driver that handles the intense summer heat and long highway commutes between Emirates with legendary ease. It stands out by offering long-term reliability without sacrificing the performance needed for confident highway overtaking.

This Car vs Other 2024 Camrys

With 65,000 km over two years, this vehicle aligns with typical GCC highway use where long-distance commutes are standard. Its black exterior is a high-demand resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, providing better value retention compared to niche colors. Being a 40th Anniversary Edition, it carries more prestige and specific cosmetic enhancements than standard 2024 models, making it a more unique find in the used market.

40TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION vs Lower Trims

The 40th Anniversary Edition significantly upgrades the driving experience over the 4-cylinder SE or GLE trims by including the high-output 3.5L V6 engine and a more sophisticated suspension setup. It adds premium touches search-critical for GCC buyers, including leather-trimmed ventilated front seats to combat summer heat and a larger 9-inch touchscreen with a 360-degree camera. This trim also standardizes the full Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ suite, which is often an optional extra on mid-range variants.

Camry vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Nissan Altima and Honda Accord have shifted largely to 4-cylinder turbocharged or hybrid setups, the Camry continues to lead with its naturally aspirated V6, offering smoother power delivery for the long desert stretches. Its 60-liter fuel tank is optimized for cross-country range, and the air conditioning system is widely regarded as the most robust in the segment for maintaining cabin comfort in 45°C+ temperatures. The Camry's larger footprint provides superior rear legroom compared to more compact competitors, making it the preferred executive commuter.

Running Costs & Resale

The V6 powertrain averages approximately 9.5 to 11.0 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions, with efficiency improving significantly during steady highway cruising between cities. Maintenance is straightforward and cost-effective thanks to the most extensive authorized service network in the region, spanning from the UAE to Saudi Arabia. Historically, the Camry V6 holds its value exceptionally well, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually, which is significantly better than European competitors in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

The 301-hp V6 engine allows for a verified 0-100 km/h time of approximately 5.8 seconds, providing sports-car-rivaling acceleration in a discreet sedan body. This power is managed by a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission that is tuned specifically for the high-speed highway traffic common in the UAE. Selectable drive modes including Sport, Eco, and Normal allow the driver to prioritize immediate throttle response for city maneuvers or fuel efficiency for long-range cruising.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat cabin is designed for long-distance comfort with multi-stage ventilated seats that are essential for the local climate. The 40th Anniversary trim includes premium leather upholstery and a panoramic glass roof that adds a sense of space while featuring high-quality heat insulation. Acoustic glass helps keep the cabin exceptionally quiet even at highway speeds, shielding passengers from road noise and the harsh outdoor environment.

Safety

This trim is equipped with the comprehensive Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ suite, including Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which is perfect for the long, fast-moving highways of the GCC. Standard safety includes 10 airbags, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Pre-Collision Braking with Pedestrian Detection. The inclusion of a 360-degree camera and Blind Spot Monitoring provides critical visibility in dense urban traffic, ensuring a high level of protection for all occupants.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a GCC professional who needs the reliability of a Toyota but refuses to compromise on the power and prestige of a top-tier V6 edition.
