Summary

This 2018 E300 AMG offers a balanced entry point into the executive segment, combining the aggressive visual package of the AMG line with the fuel efficiency of a refined four-cylinder turbo. Its black exterior is the most sought-after resale color in the GCC, ensuring it holds value better than lighter or unconventional shades. With 100,000 km on the clock, it sits at a typical mid-life milestone for a UAE-based executive sedan, having likely spent much of its life on high-quality highways between emirates. This model stands out for its high-tech cabin architecture which still feels contemporary compared to its peers. For the GCC buyer, this specific car offers the status of the E-Class badge without the high running costs of the larger V6 or V8 powerplants.

This Car vs Other 2018 E300s

At 100,000 km, this vehicle has covered roughly 16,500 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km for executive cars. This lower-than-average usage suggests less wear on the suspension and cooling systems, which are heavily taxed by local conditions. The black paintwork is a premier choice for the region, commanding a faster sale and higher price retention than non-standard colors.

AMG vs Lower Trims

The AMG trim adds significant value for GCC buyers, including the more aggressive body styling, larger 19-inch alloy wheels, and a sport-tuned suspension that improves high-speed stability on the E11. Inside, you get the flat-bottomed sport steering wheel and upgraded perforated brake discs, features that are highly prized in the local used market compared to the standard Avantgarde or Luxury lines.

E300 vs Segment Rivals

The E300 leads the BMW 530i and Audi A6 in cabin technology, specifically with its dual-screen cockpit layout that defines the modern Mercedes experience. Its 9G-TRONIC transmission offers more gear ratios than the Audi A6, providing smoother shifts during long-distance drives across the UAE or to Oman. The E-Class also typically offers a more compliant ride over city speed bumps than the firmer BMW 5 Series.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0L turbo averages around 9.7 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, making it much more economical in stop-start Dubai traffic than the E400. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a robust authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always available. The E-Class remains a benchmark for value retention in the region, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The E300 delivers a verified 0–100 km/h time of approximately 6.2 seconds, providing ample punch for highway overtaking and merging into fast-moving traffic. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, a testament to its German engineering and stability at high speeds. The Rear Wheel Drive configuration ensures a classic luxury sedan feel with precise steering and balanced weight distribution.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the heat, featuring a powerful dual-zone climate control system and high-quality insulation that keeps the interior quiet even at highway speeds. The 12.3-inch high-resolution display serves as the centerpiece for navigation and media, while the 5-seat layout provides generous legroom for rear passengers. Ambient lighting with 64 color options allows you to customize the cabin atmosphere for evening drives along the Corniche.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include Active Brake Assist and Attention Assist, which are particularly useful for maintaining safety during long desert highway stretches. The car is equipped with a comprehensive airbag system and electronic stability programs specifically calibrated to handle the occasionally sandy or dusty road surfaces found in the region. Blind Spot Assist is also standard, providing a vital extra layer of protection during multi-lane highway lane changes.

The bottom line

This E300 AMG is the ideal choice for a professional seeking a high-status executive car with a sensible maintenance profile and the best possible resale color in the GCC.
