Summary

This 2024 limited-run model presents a rare opportunity for GCC collectors and enthusiasts, featuring incredibly low mileage for a vehicle that is 2 years old. As one of only 860 units produced, it commemorates the 40th anniversary of the legendary AE86 with a distinct retro-inspired aesthetic that commands strong resale interest. The naturally aspirated boxer engine delivers linear power that is perfectly suited for the UAE's high-speed highway merging and weekend track days. Finished in a versatile grey, it offers a sophisticated take on the heritage-inspired livery while benefiting from high-performance hardware not found on standard trims.

This Car vs Other 2024 GR86s

With just 8,000 km, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the average GCC annual usage of 20,000 km, making it a standout for mechanical longevity. While most 2024 models on the market are standard trims, this is a numbered limited edition, providing built-in exclusivity that typically aids in long-term value retention compared to high-volume units.

TRUENO vs Lower Trims

The TRUENO Edition builds on the Premium trim by adding essential performance hardware, including Brembo high-performance brakes and SACHS dampers for superior handling precision. It distinguishes itself visually with a black-wrapped hood, signature side graphics, and exclusive 18-inch forged alloy wheels, alongside a numbered dash plaque and red leather interior accents.

GR86 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Subaru BRZ, the GR86 offers a more aggressive suspension tuning preferred by driving enthusiasts in the region. It leads rivals like the Mazda MX-5 in daily practicality with its 2+2 seating configuration and a larger 50-litre fuel tank, which is highly beneficial for long-distance highway drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages between 8.8 and 9.5 L/100km, offering efficient cruising for long GCC commutes. As a Toyota, it benefits from the most extensive authorized service network in the Middle East, ensuring easy access to parts and specialized maintenance from Dubai to Riyadh. American spec vehicles are common in the UAE, though buyers should verify local service center compatibility for software-related updates.

Performance & Capability

The 2.4-liter flat-four engine enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.6 seconds with the automatic transmission, providing plenty of punch for urban traffic and highway overtaking. The rear-wheel-drive layout and Torsen limited-slip differential offer a raw, engaging driving experience that is celebrated at local venues like the Dubai Autodrome. The upgraded Brembo braking system provides consistent stopping power even in the intense heat of a GCC summer.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features heated front sport seats upholstered in Ultrasuede with red leather bolsters, designed to keep occupants secure during spirited cornering. A powerful dual-zone automatic climate control system ensures rapid cooling after being parked in the sun, while the 8-inch touchscreen provides seamless smartphone integration. Despite its performance focus, the 8-speaker audio system delivers clear sound quality for daily commuting.

Safety

This trim comes standard with a comprehensive active safety suite, including Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning, which are invaluable for fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic. The inclusion of Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provides additional peace of mind in tight urban parking scenarios across the GCC.

The bottom line

This is a rare chance to own a low-mileage, limited-edition tribute to an automotive icon that combines modern Toyota reliability with exclusive performance hardware.
