Summary

This 2024 Toyota Hilux GL offers a compelling balance of modern reliability and the legendary durability the nameplate is famous for. With just over 30,000 km, this petrol-powered 4x4 has barely begun its lifecycle, sitting well below the typical high-mileage usage often seen in the GCC market. The black exterior provides a more premium, versatile look than standard white fleet models, aiding its appeal for both professional and private use. In a region where mechanical resilience is a priority, the 2.7L powertrain is a proven workhorse that avoids the complexity of newer turbocharged units. This listing represents a near-new opportunity for a buyer needing immediate capability without the wait times of a showroom order.

This Car vs Other 2024 Hiluxs

At 30,200 km, this Hilux sits in the low-to-average mileage bracket for a 2024 model in the GCC, where annual driving often exceeds 25,000 km. While many Hilux listings feature the base diesel engine or white fleet-spec paint, this black petrol 4x4 offers a more distinctive profile with better refinement for city driving. It retains the remainder of its mechanical freshness, providing a significant head start over higher-mileage alternatives.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim bridges the gap between the spartan Workmate and the premium SR5, adding essential comforts that matter in the local climate. It features improved interior materials and better cabin insulation compared to base commercial variants, alongside integrated tech that simplifies daily use. For the GCC buyer, the inclusion of factory power windows and central locking makes it a much more viable daily driver than the entry-level utility trims.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

The Hilux leads its segment in the GCC specifically through its unmatched parts availability and the sheer density of the Toyota service network, which outpaces rivals like the Mitsubishi L200 or Isuzu D-Max. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides superior highway range for long-distance desert trips compared to smaller-tank competitors. While some rivals focus on interior gadgets, the Hilux prioritizes a high-tensile steel ladder chassis that remains the benchmark for durability in extreme heat.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.7L petrol engine averages between 10.5L and 11.5L/100km depending on GCC traffic conditions, and it is fully compatible with standard local fuel grades. Toyota remains the gold standard for value retention in the UAE and Saudi markets, with the Hilux typically seeing only 8-10% annual depreciation. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km or 6 months at any authorized Toyota center, which are accessible in almost every major city across the GCC.

Performance & Capability

The 164 hp 2.7L engine is paired with a selectable 4WD system, allowing you to toggle between fuel-efficient rear-wheel drive and high-traction four-wheel drive. Its low-range transfer case is vital for navigating soft sand or steep inclines during weekend overland trips. With a robust ground clearance and a drivetrain designed for heavy-duty use, it handles the transition from smooth highways to rugged desert terrain with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The double-cab configuration comfortably seats five, featuring a powerful air conditioning system engineered to maintain cabin temperatures even when exterior heat exceeds 45°C. The layout is functional and ergonomic, featuring dedicated storage for long highway drives and clear analog instrumentation for high-glare environments. Rear cooling vents and durable fabric seating ensure all passengers remain comfortable during extended trips between emirates.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include front airbags and a driver-side knee airbag, alongside essential active systems like ABS and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). The Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) provide critical assistance on the unpredictable surfaces of GCC desert roads. These systems work together to ensure stability whether the bed is empty or fully loaded.

The bottom line

This Hilux is the ideal choice for a buyer who requires the ultimate GCC workhorse in a modern, low-mileage package that won't plummet in value.
