Summary

This 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 is the recently updated LC76 LX trim, blending the legendary ruggedness of the 70-series with modern updates like a 6-speed automatic transmission. As a GCC-spec vehicle with relatively low mileage for its first year, it offers significant value retention and immediate suitability for the region's harsh climates. The classic brown exterior is a highly sought-after, practical choice for desert use, hiding sand and dust while maintaining a strong resale profile in the UAE market. For the off-road enthusiast or long-distance traveler, this model represents the most refined version of a platform that has dominated the Arabian Peninsula for decades.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruiser 70s

With just 20,750 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits well below the typical 25,000 km annual average for GCC-based 4x4s. The brown exterior is a specific advantage in the local market, as it is widely regarded as one of the most durable colors for resisting the visual effects of sand and high heat. This lower-than-average mileage combined with the recent 2024 facelift makes it a prime candidate for a long-term ownership hold.

LC76 LX vs Lower Trims

The LX trim elevates the utilitarian LC76 with essential GCC upgrades, most notably the new 9-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unlike the standard DX trims, the LX features premium wood-grain interior accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a factory-fitted refrigerator in the center console. You also get the convenience of a 6-speed automatic transmission, which was previously unavailable on this V6 petrol engine.

Land Cruiser 70 vs Segment Rivals

The LC76 remains in a class of its own compared to modern unibody SUVs like the Nissan Patrol or Land Rover Defender. Its massive 130-litre fuel tank provides a range that rivals cannot match on long desert expeditions between emirates. While competitors prioritize cabin tech, the Toyota leads in pure durability, utilizing a solid live-axle suspension that is easier to maintain and repair across the wider GCC region.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is famous for its mechanical simplicity, resulting in lower long-term maintenance costs compared to turbocharged rivals. Real-world fuel consumption typically hovers around 14.4 to 17.9 L/100km, which is expected for a heavy, body-on-frame 4x4 in GCC stop-start traffic. With the strongest resale value in the UAE, you can expect this vehicle to retain approximately 85-90% of its value after three years, supported by an authorized service network that spans every major city in the GCC.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with 200 hp and 360 Nm of torque, this V6 petrol engine is tuned for low-end grunt rather than high-speed sprints. It features a genuine low-range transfer case and front/rear locking differentials, making it nearly unstoppable in soft dunes. The 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and 230 mm of ground clearance ensure it can handle everything from heavy trailers to rocky wadi crossings without breaking a sweat.

Comfort & Cabin

The LC76 LX features a 5-seat layout with an air conditioning system specifically engineered to cool the cabin rapidly in 50°C summer heat. The modern interior update includes a digital cockpit display and improved sound insulation, making the long highway drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai significantly more comfortable. The addition of the factory refrigerator ensures beverages stay cold even during the hottest desert weekends.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this LX trim includes Dual Front Airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). It also benefits from Toyota's Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert, which are particularly useful for maintaining safety during long, monotonous desert highway drives. The inclusion of a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) provides peace of mind when adjusting pressures for off-road excursions.

The bottom line

Perfect for the purist who wants the indestructible 70-series chassis with the modern convenience of an automatic gearbox—this low-mileage 2024 model is the ultimate desert-ready investment.
