Summary

This near-new 2024 Toyota RAV4 VX offers a premium crossover experience with significantly lower mileage than typical for its age in the UAE. As the top-tier petrol trim, it bridges the gap between everyday utility and executive comfort, featuring high-end materials that rivals often leave as optional. The neutral exterior color is a smart choice for the GCC, balancing heat reflection with strong long-term resale appeal across the region. With its legendary reliability and a cooling system built for 50-degree summers, this is the definitive worry-free family SUV for the local market.

This Car vs Other 2024 RAV4s

With just 14,459 km, this RAV4 has seen significantly less use than the average 20,000–25,000 km annual mileage typical for GCC-based vehicles. It remains in peak mechanical condition, effectively offering a new-car experience while having already passed the initial steep depreciation phase. The exterior color is highly desirable in the UAE, ensuring it stays cooler in the sun and maintains higher demand in the pre-owned market.

VX vs Lower Trims

The VX trim elevates the RAV4 experience well beyond the base EX and EXR models, adding sophisticated touches like synthetic leather upholstery, a larger infotainment display, and a power sunroof. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the dual-zone climate control and upgraded 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels that give it a much more commanding presence. It also includes the convenience of a power liftgate and the Smart Key system, features that are often absent on lower-spec petrol variants.

RAV4 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan X-Trail and Honda CR-V, the RAV4 stands out with a more robust 2.5L naturally aspirated engine that avoids the complexity of turbocharging, a key factor for long-term GCC reliability. It offers a larger fuel tank capacity of 55 liters, providing superior range for cross-country drives between Emirates. Furthermore, the Toyota badge ensures significantly stronger value retention and easier access to spare parts across the entire GCC network.

Running Costs & Resale

This petrol-powered RAV4 is efficient for its class, achieving approximately 14.9 km/L on the highway, making it well-suited for long desert commutes. Service intervals are typically set at every 10,000 km, and Al-Futtaim’s extensive UAE network ensures maintenance is convenient and affordable. Historically, the RAV4 is one of the slowest-depreciating vehicles in the GCC, often retaining up to 85-90% of its value after the first year of ownership.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L engine produces a solid 203 hp, providing smooth and confident overtaking power on fast-moving multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for efficiency in city traffic while maintaining a refined feel during high-speed cruising. With a standard ground clearance of 213 mm, it easily handles sand-drifted roads and gravel tracks for weekend family outings.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five passengers with generous rear legroom and dedicated air conditioning vents, which are essential for rear-seat comfort during the peak GCC summer. High-quality SofTex seats provide a premium feel while being durable enough to withstand the local dust and heat. Acoustic glass and improved insulation ensure the interior remains quiet and isolated from road noise during long highway stints.

Safety

Safety is a priority with the Toyota Safety Sense suite, including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Lane Departure Alert which are vital for local highway driving. The VX trim also comes standard with a Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, providing an extra layer of protection during lane changes in heavy traffic. Multiple airbags and a 5-star safety pedigree ensure maximum peace of mind for family buyers.

The bottom line

For a buyer seeking a near-brand-new family SUV with high specifications and proven GCC durability, this low-mileage VX trim represents the most secure investment in the current market.
