Summary

This 2024 XC60 Black Edition offers a unique opportunity to own a near-new, top-tier Scandinavian SUV with very low mileage for its age. Dressed in Onyx Black with exclusive 21-inch glossy black wheels, it stands out with a stealthy aesthetic that remains highly desirable in the GCC used market. The Black Edition package elevates the already premium Ultimate trim, providing a refined cabin experience that balances safety with modern luxury. For the GCC buyer, this model provides the perfect mix of manageable city dimensions and sophisticated highway cruising capability. Its all-wheel-drive system and ventilated seating make it a reliable companion for both daily Dubai commutes and weekend trips across the emirates.

This Car vs Other 2024 XC60s

With just 15,177 km on the odometer, this XC60 has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The Black Edition is a rare sight compared to the standard Core and Plus trims, offering a distinctive look that maintains strong resale value. The Onyx Black exterior is a perennially popular choice in the region, ensuring better liquidity when it comes time to upgrade.

BLACK EDITION vs Lower Trims

The Black Edition builds on the top-spec Ultimate trim, adding exclusive 21-inch 5-double spoke glossy black wheels and a darkened exterior theme including the grille and badging. Inside, it features ventilated Nappa leather seats and a four-zone climate control system, both essential for the GCC's extreme summer heat. You also benefit from the high-fidelity Harman Kardon audio system and a head-up display that aren't standard on the Core or Plus trims.

XC60 vs Segment Rivals

The XC60 leads its segment in safety-first design, competing directly with the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. While rivals focus on aggressive sportiness, the Volvo offers a more serene, minimalist cabin and superior seating ergonomics that reduce fatigue on long hauls between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Its 483-litre boot is perfectly shaped for family airport runs or grocery trips, offering a flat loading floor that is easier to use than many competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L B5 mild-hybrid powertrain is designed for efficiency, averaging approximately 8.7L/100km, which helps manage fuel costs during stop-start traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. Service intervals in the GCC are typically recommended every 10,000 km or 12 months to account for the high-heat environment. Volvo enjoys a growing authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, contributing to steady value retention that typically sees about 12-15% annual depreciation, competitive with its European peers.

Performance & Capability

The B5 mild-hybrid engine delivers a smooth 247 hp and 350 Nm of torque, enabling a verified 0-100 km/h time of 6.9 seconds. Its all-wheel-drive system provides confident traction during occasional gravel drives or heavy seasonal rains, while the 8-speed automatic transmission ensures seamless power delivery for highway overtaking. The vehicle is electronically limited to a top speed of 180 km/h, aligning with Volvo’s global safety commitment.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of Scandinavian craft, featuring Charcoal Nappa leather and a tailored dashboard that remains cool under the desert sun. The four-zone climate system ensures every passenger stays comfortable, supported by dedicated rear vents that are a must-have for the region. Tech is anchored by a 9-inch vertical display with Google Built-in, providing seamless navigation and voice control for hands-free operation during your commute.

Safety

True to the brand's heritage, this XC60 features the full suite of Volvo’s safety technology, including Pilot Assist for semi-autonomous highway driving and a 360-degree camera system for effortless parking in tight city spots. Standard equipment includes BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) and Cross Traffic Alert, which provide vital protection on the fast-moving, multi-lane highways common across the GCC. The structural integrity is world-class, designed to offer maximum protection for all five occupants.

The bottom line

For the executive or small family seeking a low-mileage, high-spec SUV that breaks away from the German mainstream, this Black Edition XC60 is the ultimate stealth luxury choice in the UAE.
