Summary

This 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport is a prime example of the modern luxury SUV, offering a significant saving over new while remaining well within its primary service cycle. With just one year of age, its mileage is perfectly consistent with typical GCC highway use, and the Grey exterior remains one of the region's most resilient colors for resale. The M Sport trim is the most sought-after configuration in the UAE, providing the aggressive aesthetic and sharper handling that buyers in this segment demand. This specific model balances the silky-smooth power of BMW’s legendary straight-six with the practical range needed for cross-emirate commutes. For a buyer seeking the latest tech and German precision without the immediate depreciation of a showroom-fresh car, this listing is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2025 X5s

At 34,786 km, this X5 has been driven approximately 35,000 km in its first year, which is slightly above the global average but aligns with the higher mileage typical of executive commuters in the GCC. Because GCC buyers prioritize newer model years for warranty and tech, the one-year-old status is a major advantage. The Grey metallic paint is a top-tier choice for the local market, offering excellent heat reflection and maintaining high demand on the used market compared to niche colors.

xDrive40i M Sport vs Lower Trims

The M Sport trim is a substantial step up from the base xDrive40i, adding the M Aerodynamics package, high-gloss Shadowline trim, and 20-inch M-specific wheels that define its road presence. Inside, it gains the M leather steering wheel and anthracite headliner, which are highly valued in the GCC for their premium feel. Unlike base models, the M Sport also features an M-tuned adaptive suspension that provides better stability during high-speed highway cruising between cities.

X5 vs Segment Rivals

The X5 leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q7 with its superior driver-centric infotainment, featuring the massive 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display as standard. Its 83-litre fuel tank provides a longer cruising range than many competitors, a vital trait for long desert highway drives. While the GLE focuses on soft comfort, the X5 offers a more engaging steering feel and a more responsive turbocharged inline-six engine that is widely regarded as the most reliable in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the xDrive40i averages around 9.5 to 10.5 L/100km, which is efficient for a large SUV thanks to its 48V mild-hybrid system. In the GCC, BMW's authorized service network is extensive, with major hubs across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait ensuring parts are readily available. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains value far better than imported equivalents, typically depreciating by 12-15% annually, which is standard for the European luxury segment in this region.

Performance & Capability

The 375 hp 3.0L engine delivers a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system is tuned for on-road agility but offers excellent stability on rain-slicked tarmac or gravel tracks during weekend escapes. With a top speed of 250 km/h, it is engineered for high-speed composure, making long-distance travel between emirates both quiet and exceptionally fast.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC heat, equipped with a high-performance multi-zone climate control system and dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. The M Sport package includes sport seats that provide excellent lateral support during spirited drives, upholstered in durable Sensafin material. Technical highlights include the latest iDrive 8.5 system, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof that adds an airy feel to the premium interior.

Safety

Standard safety tech on this trim includes the Active Driving Assistant, which features Frontal Collision Warning, Active Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Departure Warning—all essential for navigating busy multi-lane highways. It also comes equipped with a 360-degree camera system and Park Assistant, making it surprisingly easy to maneuver in tight urban parking. The combination of xDrive traction and advanced stability control ensures maximum safety during the unpredictable dust or rain storms common in the region.

The bottom line

This is the ideal SUV for a professional or family looking for a 'near-new' BMW X5 with the most desirable M Sport styling and GCC-specific peace of mind. It offers the perfect balance of performance and prestige at a price point that reflects smart market timing.
