Summary

This 2025 BYD Leopard 8 Flagship is a nearly-new example with only 70 km on the odometer, representing a rare chance to own BYD's high-tech hybrid flagship in its most premium 6-seat configuration. Finished in timeless black—a top-tier choice for resale value in the GCC—this SUV bridges the gap between a luxury cruiser and a serious off-roader with its body-on-frame construction and advanced hydraulic suspension. It stands out from rivals by offering an immense 700+ hp output alongside the efficiency of a plug-in hybrid system that excels in stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai or Riyadh. For the GCC buyer, the most important consideration is its remarkable versatility: it provides silent electric commuting during the week and long-range, desert-ready capability for weekend adventures without range anxiety.

This Car vs Other 2025 Leopard 8s

With only 70 km of use, this vehicle is effectively a new car, sitting significantly below the 20,000–25,000 km annual average for SUVs in the GCC market. The black exterior is the most sought-after color for luxury SUVs in the region, ensuring better value retention and faster resale compared to niche tones. For a 1-year-old vehicle, this mileage makes it one of the freshest examples available.

FLAGSHIP vs Lower Trims

The Flagship trim adds the sophisticated DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic body control system, which allows for proactive damping adjustments and a massive 310 mm ground clearance. Inside, it upgrades the cabin with premium materials, executive second-row captain's chairs, and a 50-inch AR head-up display that is not standard on base models. You also benefit from a comprehensive 14-airbag safety system and LiDAR-enhanced autonomous driving features.

Leopard 8 vs Segment Rivals

The Leopard 8 competes with the Land Cruiser Prado and Lexus GX but leads them significantly in raw power and efficiency thanks to its 700+ hp DMO hybrid platform. While traditional rivals rely on larger, thirstier engines, the Leopard 8 provides a massive 1,200 km CLTC combined range for long cross-border drives. Its hydraulic suspension technology is also more advanced than the air systems found in many European luxury SUVs, offering superior durability in harsh desert conditions.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is highly efficient for a full-size SUV, averaging roughly 8.5L/100km in mixed driving, though it can run on pure electricity for urban commutes. While this is a Chinese-spec model, BYD's service network is expanding rapidly across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with parts availability supported by major regional distributors. As a high-demand hybrid flagship, it follows a more stable depreciation curve than pure-electric vehicles in the GCC, typically retaining strong value at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

A staggering 4.8-second 0–100 km/h sprint makes this 3.3-ton SUV faster than many sports cars, providing effortless overtaking on high-speed UAE motorways. The DMO off-road platform includes three differential locks and a specialized 'three-wheel drive' mode for emergency recovery in sand or mud. Its hydraulic suspension can lift the body by up to 200 mm, ensuring it can clear obstacles that would stop standard crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The 6-seat layout features ventilated and massaging seats in both the front and second rows, a vital feature for maintaining comfort during the extreme GCC summer. Triple screens—including a 17.3-inch central hub and a dedicated passenger display—keep the whole family entertained on long drives between emirates. The cabin also features a built-in refrigerator and acoustic glass to isolate passengers from heat and road noise.

Safety

This Flagship trim is equipped with Huawei's ADS 3.0 advanced driving suite, offering LiDAR-based obstacle detection and adaptive cruise control perfect for long desert highway stretches. The safety net includes 14 airbags and a 540-degree camera system that provides a 'transparent chassis' view for navigating tricky off-road terrain. Standard active systems include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring specifically tuned for fast-moving multi-lane traffic.

The bottom line

This Leopard 8 Flagship is the ideal choice for a tech-focused buyer who wants the ruggedness of a traditional 4x4 with the luxury and efficiency of a modern hybrid. With delivery-level mileage and the highest available specification, it is the best-positioned listing for anyone looking to skip the waitlist for BYD's most capable SUV.
