• 1,200 km total combined range (CLTC)

Summary

This 2026 BYD Leopard 8 Flagship represents the absolute cutting edge of the new 'hardcore hybrid' segment, offering a rare combination of 738 hp performance and genuine off-road hardware. With only 14 km on the odometer, this is essentially a brand-new vehicle, and its silver exterior is a top-tier choice for heat rejection and resale value in the GCC. The Flagship trim is the most desirable version of this model, featuring the advanced DiSus-P hydraulic suspension that allows it to transition from a luxury highway cruiser to a desert-ready explorer at the touch of a button. For the GCC buyer, this provides a unique opportunity to own a full-size, seven-seat SUV that balances a 1,200 km range with the technical capability of a traditional 4x4.

This Car vs Other 2026 Leopard 8s

With delivery mileage of just 14 km, this vehicle is in pristine condition compared to typical high-use SUVs in the region. The silver exterior is a strategic advantage for the UAE climate, reflecting sunlight effectively to assist the climate control system and ensuring strong demand in the secondary market. As a 2026 model, it features the most up-to-date hardware and software revisions available for this generation.

FLAGSHIP vs Lower Trims

The Flagship trim is defined by the inclusion of the DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic body control system, which provides superior damping and adjustable height that lower trims lack. Inside, it adds a premium 18-speaker Devialet audio system, a 17.3-inch central display, and ventilated and massaging seats for both the front and second rows. It also features the full Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 suite with roof-mounted LiDAR, providing the highest level of driver assistance available in the lineup.

Leopard 8 vs Segment Rivals

The Leopard 8 leads rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Land Rover Defender in pure technology and hybrid efficiency, offering a 125 km electric-only range for city commuting. Its 738 hp output significantly outmuscles traditional V6 and V8 competitors, providing effortless overtaking on the E11 and E311 highways. Additionally, its integrated 7-litre refrigerator and dual-motor AWD system offer a more modern take on luxury exploration than its purely internal combustion peers.

Running Costs & Resale

As a plug-in hybrid, the Leopard 8 can achieve extremely low fuel consumption in stop-start city traffic when charged, with a depleted-battery efficiency of approximately 8.5 L/100km. Being a Chinese-spec parallel import, buyers should note that official distributor warranties may not apply; however, independent specialist workshops for BYD are expanding rapidly across Dubai and Riyadh. Resale value for these high-spec hybrids is currently buoyed by high demand for tech-forward SUVs in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0T DMO hybrid platform delivers a combined 738 hp and 760 Nm of torque, enabling a sports-car-like 0-100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds. Its off-road credentials are confirmed by three locking differentials and a 900 mm wading depth, making it as capable in the dunes as it is on the road. The hydraulic suspension can raise the body to provide 310 mm of ground clearance, ensuring it clears obstacles that would stop most luxury crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is designed for long-distance family comfort in the heat, featuring Nappa leather and a powerful quad-zone climate control system. Both front and rear passengers benefit from ventilated seats, a critical feature for GCC summers, and the cabin is heavily insulated for low NVH levels at highway speeds. A panoramic sunroof with a high-quality sunblind and a triple-screen dashboard creates a sophisticated environment for all occupants.

Safety

The Leopard 8 is equipped with the Huawei ADS 3.0 platform, which utilizes LiDAR and dual cameras for proactive collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control—essential for the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Standard safety features include a 360-degree camera with a 'transparent chassis' view for off-roading, lane-keeping assist, and a comprehensive suite of airbags. The body-on-frame construction provides a rigid safety cell that is further enhanced by BYD's Blade Battery technology, known for its high thermal stability.

The bottom line

This is the ideal SUV for a tech-savvy family in the GCC who wants the power of a supercar and the off-road toughness of a Land Cruiser without the high fuel costs of a traditional V8. Given its brand-new status and top-tier Flagship spec, this listing represents a prime opportunity to jump to the front of the queue for the region's most anticipated hybrid 4x4.
