Summary

This 2025 BYD Song Plus is a standout choice for those seeking ultra-low running costs without sacrificing the flexibility of a long-range cruiser. As a plug-in hybrid with negligible mileage, it offers a nearly-new ownership experience in the popular White exterior, which remains a top-tier choice for heat reflection and resale value in the GCC. The 2025 model year features the latest DM-i technology, providing a smoother and more efficient drive compared to traditional hybrid rivals. For a GCC buyer, this powertrain is ideal for conquering daily commutes on electric power while having the freedom to drive across borders or between emirates without range anxiety.

This Car vs Other 2025 Song Pluses

With just 1,396 km on the odometer, this vehicle is in near-showroom condition and sits significantly below the typical mileage expected for its age. The White paint is arguably the most practical and high-demand color in the local market, ensuring it remains highly liquid when it comes time to upgrade. Its status as a 2025 model ensures you are getting the latest iteration of BYD’s hybrid software and battery management.

FWD vs Lower Trims

This FWD trim level is equipped with a generous suite of features that are often optional in the segment, including the signature rotating 12.8-inch touchscreen and a 360° panoramic camera system. It adds refined comfort features like power-adjustable seats and enhanced cabin acoustics which are vital for maintaining a premium feel during the summer months. The integration of 19-inch alloy wheels also provides a more planted and premium road presence compared to base specifications.

Song Plus vs Segment Rivals

The Song Plus leads its class with a total range of up to 1,500 km, outlasting the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Honda CR-V on long-distance treks across the GCC. While rivals often rely on standard hybrid systems, this PHEV allows for true electric-only commuting for over 100 km, potentially eliminating fuel costs for your daily office run. It also offers a more contemporary, tech-focused cabin with over-the-air update capabilities that traditional competitors often lack.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low, with fuel consumption rated as low as 3.9 L/100km even when the battery is depleted—perfect for heavy stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km, and while this is a Chinese spec vehicle, parts availability is rapidly expanding across the region through dedicated suppliers. BYD's rapid growth in the Middle East is supporting strong value retention for their hybrid models compared to older luxury PHEVs.

Performance & Capability

The combined output of 197 hp allows for a 0–100 km/h sprint in 7.7 seconds, providing brisk acceleration that is particularly useful for merging onto fast-moving highways. The E-CVT transmission is tuned for smoothness, delivering a linear power flow that makes long-distance driving remarkably relaxing. With a 60-litre fuel tank and an 18.3 kWh Blade Battery, it is one of the few vehicles capable of driving from Dubai to Muscat and back on a single tank.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat layout provides ample legroom for a family of five, with a flat rear floor that increases center-passenger comfort. The air conditioning system is specifically designed to handle extreme ambient temperatures, supported by rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool. High-quality synthetic leather and a panoramic sunroof create an airy, premium atmosphere that rivals many European crossovers.

Safety

Safety is anchored by BYD's ultra-safe Blade Battery technology, which is designed to withstand extreme physical damage without catching fire. This trim includes a comprehensive ADAS suite featuring Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, and Automatic Emergency Braking, which are essential for safety on high-speed GCC motorways. The 360° panoramic camera makes navigating tight mall parking spaces effortless.

The bottom line

This 2025 BYD Song Plus is the perfect opportunity for a tech-savvy buyer to secure a nearly-new, high-efficiency SUV that beats the best-sellers on range and daily running costs.
