Summary

This 2025 BYD Song Pro Comfort offers a strategic entry into the modern crossover market, blending remarkable fuel efficiency with a high-spec interior. As a Chinese-spec model in a crisp white finish—a high-demand resale color in the GCC—it stands out for its balance of technology and practicality. While it utilizes a 1.5L engine optimized for efficiency, the cabin feels premium thanks to BYD’s signature rotating screen and soft-touch materials. For a GCC buyer, this represents a low-running-cost alternative to traditional petrol SUVs, perfectly suited for the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. It provides the space of a mid-size SUV with the operational costs of a much smaller commuter car.

This Car vs Other 2025 Song Pros

With its 2025 model year status, this vehicle benefits from the latest design updates and software optimizations for the DiLink system. While most units in the market carry high highway mileage due to the region's long commutes, a 2025 model provides the security of modern components. The white exterior is the gold standard for GCC resale, ensuring better thermal management in summer and higher interest in the used market.

Comfort vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim adds significant daily luxuries over the base variant, most notably the larger 10-inch rotating infotainment screen and an upgraded 9-speaker audio system. It also features premium fabric or synthetic leather-trimmed seats and a digital dashboard, which are essential for a modern driving experience. These tech upgrades are specifically what GCC buyers look for, as they significantly bolster the car's desirability and value at the three-year mark.

Song Pro vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Toyota Raize or MG ZS, the Song Pro offers a larger footprint and more generous rear legroom, making it a truer family SUV. Its primary advantage is the 52-litre fuel tank paired with an extremely efficient 1.5L powertrain, allowing for longer ranges between fill-ups on cross-emirate drives. The 520-litre boot capacity also outclasses several compact rivals, providing genuine utility for airport runs or weekend trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is a highlight, with the naturally aspirated 1.5L engine achieving approximately 3.7 L/100km under NEDC standards. Maintenance is streamlined through a growing network of authorized service centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with service intervals typically every 10,000 km. While Chinese-spec cars face different warranty structures than GCC-official units, the Song Pro’s shared parts with other BYD models ensure good components availability. Resale value for BYD is stabilizing rapidly in the region as the brand gains trust.

Performance & Capability

The 113 hp 1.5L engine is paired with a smooth automatic transmission designed for urban refinement and steady highway cruising. It handles the GCC’s high-speed multi-lane roads with stability, focusing on ride comfort rather than aggressive acceleration. With a turning circle of roughly 5.8 meters, it remains highly maneuverable in tight city parking, while the front-wheel-drive layout ensures predictable handling in all weather conditions, including heavy rain or sand-dusted roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is built to handle the heat, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool. The 60:40 split-fold rear seats allow for a maximum cargo volume of 1,430 litres, accommodating large items with ease. Insulation is impressive for the segment, keeping road noise to a minimum during long desert highway drives. The central 10-inch rotating screen acts as the hub for all vehicle settings, providing a futuristic feel that rivals struggle to match.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the Comfort trim includes front and rear sensors paired with a high-definition rearview camera for confident parking. The vehicle is equipped with a suite of active safety features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which is vital for maintaining safety during the extreme temperature fluctuations of the GCC summer. Multiple airbags and a high-strength unibody construction provide robust passive protection for all occupants.

The bottom line

This 2025 BYD Song Pro is the ideal choice for a tech-savvy family looking to slash their fuel bill without sacrificing SUV practicality. It offers a near-new experience and a high-demand color spec, making it a very safe bet for future resale.
