Summary

This 2025 Hongqi E-HS9 Flagship represents the peak of Chinese electric luxury, offering an imposing presence that rivals established European marques on the streets of Dubai and Riyadh. As the top-tier Flagship trim with the high-output 543 hp dual-motor setup, it provides effortless acceleration and a refined all-wheel-drive experience suited for both city commutes and inter-emirate travel. The European specification ensures high build quality standards, while the classic white exterior remains the most preferred choice for maintaining strong resale value in the GCC. For the tech-forward buyer, this model delivers an ultra-luxurious six-seat cabin equipped with six digital displays, making it a standout choice in the growing premium EV segment.

This Car vs Other 2025 E-HS9s

This specific 2025 unit benefits from being a near-new example of the current model year, offering the latest software refinements for its expansive digital interface. Its European specification is a distinct advantage for buyers seeking international build standards, and the white exterior is the strongest resale color across the GCC market. Compared to earlier models, the 2025 version features optimized battery management for more consistent performance in high-temperature environments.

FLAGSHIP vs Lower Trims

The Flagship trim is a significant step above the Deluxe and Executive versions, most notably upgrading the rear motor to reach a combined 543 hp. Inside, it adds premium features essential for GCC comfort, including ventilated and massaging second-row captain chairs and a total of six integrated smart screens. While lower trims often use a smaller battery, this Flagship is equipped with the 120 kWh pack for maximum long-distance cruising.

E-HS9 vs Segment Rivals

The E-HS9 competes directly with the BMW iX and Tesla Model X, standing out with its massive 5.2-meter length and palatial six-seat executive layout. Its wheelbase of over 3.1 meters provides superior legroom in the second row compared to more compact rivals, while its 515 km WLTP range ensures it can comfortably handle a round trip between Dubai and Abu Dhabi without a mid-journey charge. The imposing 'presidential' design gives it a unique road presence that more minimalist rivals lack.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low for a vehicle of this size, with DEWA charging rates in the UAE providing a full 'tank' at a fraction of the cost of a petrol V8 SUV. While European luxury brands typically depreciate by 15% annually in the GCC, Hongqi is establishing a stable niche, though buyers should note that European spec cars may require specialized service providers outside of the primary authorized networks. Authorized service centers are currently expanding in major hubs like Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah to support the growing fleet of E-HS9s.

Performance & Capability

The Flagship's dual-motor AWD system delivers a staggering 750 Nm of torque, enabling this 2.7-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Adaptive air suspension comes standard on this trim, allowing for a 'waftable' ride quality that smooths out highway imperfections at high speeds. With multiple drive modes including All-Terrain and Off-Road, the E-HS9 is capable of handling gravel tracks and light desert trails during weekend excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The six-seat configuration features second-row captain chairs with independent climate zones, heating, and ventilation—an absolute necessity during the peak GCC summer. The cabin is insulated with acoustic glass to maintain a library-quiet atmosphere, while the panoramic sunroof features high-quality tinting to reject desert heat. Technology is central to the experience, with an AR-navigation-capable digital cockpit and dedicated entertainment screens for rear passengers.

Safety

The 2025 E-HS9 is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite that earned a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, including blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist which are vital for multi-lane GCC highways. Standard safety equipment for the Flagship includes a 360-degree surround-view camera, autonomous emergency braking, and a suite of eight airbags to protect all three rows. Its driver status monitor is particularly useful for detecting fatigue during long-distance desert drives.

The bottom line

This 2025 Flagship is the ideal choice for a luxury-seeking family or executive who wants the most powerful, long-range version of the E-HS9 currently available in the market.
