HONGQI EHS9 FLAGSHIP

Highlights

• Four seats with second-row executive captain chairs
• 0–100 km/h in 5.0 seconds

Summary

This 2025 Hongqi E-HS9 Flagship is a compelling opportunity for buyers seeking a high-spec executive EV with ultra-low usage. As a one-year-old vehicle in the high-demand White exterior, it offers excellent resale potential in the GCC market where light colors are preferred for their heat-reflective properties. The Flagship trim significantly elevates the experience over standard models by replacing the bench with two massive, multi-functional rear thrones, positioning it as a genuine alternative to ultra-luxury European SUVs. With its distinctive presence and immediate torque, it’s a sophisticated choice for those who prioritize rear-seat comfort and cutting-edge tech. The authorized service network is well-established in the UAE, providing essential peace of mind for a premium Chinese EV.

This Car vs Other 2025 EHS9s

Compared to typical one-year-old vehicles in the GCC that often cover 25,000 km, this E-HS9 presents as a nearly new example. The White paint is the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention than darker shades. Its status as a Flagship 4-seater makes it significantly rarer than the more common 7-seat family configurations found in the UAE.

FLAGSHIP vs Lower Trims

The Flagship trim transforms the E-HS9 into a mobile lounge by reducing the seat count to four, offering unparalleled legroom and executive captain chairs with full leg rests, heating, cooling, and professional massage programs. It adds the dual-motor performance boost to 543 hp, 22-inch wheels, and an immersive multi-screen cockpit including a dedicated passenger display. While lower trims focus on family logistics, the Flagship focuses on the principal passenger experience with higher-grade Nappa leather and soft-close doors.

EHS9 vs Segment Rivals

The E-HS9 stands out against rivals like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS by offering a fully electric powertrain and a more futuristic, screen-heavy interior at a competitive price point. It leads the segment in wheelbase length at 3,110 mm, providing more interior volume than most traditional luxury SUVs. Its 'Chinese Rolls-Royce' design language offers a level of road presence and vertical grille styling that few competitors in this price bracket can match.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low for a full-size SUV, benefiting from the UAE’s competitive EV charging infrastructure and DEWA green charger network. While the 120 kWh battery is large, real-world efficiency reflects its 2,700 kg weight in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals for the E-HS9 are typically every 10,000 km or 12 months, primarily involving software checks and cabin filter changes, with authorized service centers conveniently located across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Expect a depreciation curve similar to high-end European luxury EVs, though the Flagship’s rare 4-seat layout helps it maintain a premium in the pre-owned market.

Performance & Capability

With a combined 543 hp and 750 Nm of torque, this all-wheel-drive SUV hits 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds, offering effortless highway overtaking on the E11. The adaptive air suspension provides up to 260 mm of maximum ground clearance, allowing for smooth travel over speed bumps and light gravel paths during weekend trips. Six distinct driving modes allow you to tailor the motor response and ride height, ensuring stability during high-speed highway cruising between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in executive travel, featuring four individual climate zones and a powerful AC system designed to combat 45°C GCC summers. The second-row passengers enjoy independent 16.2-inch entertainment screens and dedicated touch controls for the Alcantara-lined interior's comfort settings. Acoustic glass and active noise cancellation ensure a silent sanctuary, isolating the cabin from desert wind noise during long-distance drives.

Safety

This Flagship trim comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, which is invaluable for heavy traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. The 360-degree camera system and self-parking features make maneuvering its 5.2-meter length effortless in tight urban parking. Safety is further bolstered by lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a robust multi-airbag system designed to protect all four passengers.

The bottom line

This 2025 Flagship E-HS9 is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the prestige and rear-seat luxury of an executive limousine with the sustainability and presence of a modern EV.
