Summary

This latest model year represents the absolute peak of the executive transport segment, offering a rare 9+ seating configuration that remains genuinely comfortable for every passenger. Because this is a current-year vehicle in a high-demand black exterior, it holds a significant resale advantage in the GCC market where high-capacity luxury vans are coveted for both family and corporate use. The TOURER SELECT trim elevates the driving experience with premium finishes that move it far beyond a standard utility van, making it a sophisticated choice for long-range travel between emirates. With zero mileage concerns and the latest aesthetic updates from the manufacturer, this vehicle offers a 'new car' experience with the immediate availability that the regional market demands. It stands out from rivals by balancing a compact footprint that fits in standard Dubai mall parking with a cavernous interior that rivals full-sized buses. For the GCC buyer, the most important factor is the updated petrol powertrain which is perfectly calibrated for our high-speed highway networks and extreme summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2025 Vitos

As a brand-new 2025 model, this vehicle sits at the very beginning of its life cycle, meaning it features the most up-to-date cooling systems and interior electronics currently available in the region. While many 2025 examples are just entering the market, this specific unit’s black-on-black color scheme is the most sought-after combination for executive transport in cities like Dubai and Riyadh, ensuring it will always be easier to trade or sell later. Compared to average GCC annual usage of 25,000 kilometers, starting with a fresh 2025 model gives the owner a massive buffer for long-term value retention. The absence of any wear and tear means the air conditioning system is at peak efficiency, an essential factor given the 45-degree summers we experience. Choosing a 2025 model over slightly older stock also ensures you have the latest software interface for the MBUX system, which is significantly more intuitive than previous versions.

TOURER SELECT vs Lower Trims

The TOURER SELECT trim is a substantial upgrade over the base models, focusing heavily on passenger comfort and aesthetic refinement. While lower trims often feature more basic plastic cladding and simpler seating, the SELECT benefits from body-colored bumpers, high-quality alloy wheels, and a much more sophisticated chrome-accented grille that fits perfectly in a VIP fleet. Inside, you move from basic cloth to high-grade upholstery and refined trim inserts that noticeably dampen road noise during high-speed highway cruising. This trim also standardizes the comfort seats with enhanced lateral support and adjustable armrests, which are vital for long drives across the border or into the Northern Emirates. Furthermore, the SELECT trim includes more advanced climate control zones, ensuring that even those in the third and fourth rows receive the same level of cooling as the driver, a feature often lacking in entry-level specifications.

Vito vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota HiAce or the Hyundai Staria, this vehicle offers a distinct European driving feel and brand prestige that is unmatched in the 9-seater category. While Japanese rivals are known for utility, this model leads with a 231-horsepower petrol engine that provides much smoother acceleration and better overtaking power on the E11 highway. The interior build quality is a significant step above the competition, utilizing soft-touch materials and premium switchgear that rivals luxury sedans. It also features a lower overall height than some higher-roofed competitors, allowing it to enter restricted underground parking structures in downtown Abu Dhabi or Dubai where others cannot. For those who prioritize a professional image alongside sheer capacity, this vehicle provides a level of executive presence that rivals simply cannot match in this price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine is impressively efficient for such a large vehicle, averaging around 9.0 to 10.5 liters per 100km on the highway. In the stop-and-start traffic of Sharjah or Riyadh, you can expect these figures to rise slightly, but the smart automatic transmission does an excellent job of keeping the RPMs low to save fuel. Service intervals in the GCC are typically every 15,000 kilometers or once a year, and with Mercedes' extensive authorized service network in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintenance is straightforward. This model experiences approximately 12-15% annual depreciation, which is standard for premium European vans but significantly better than niche competitors due to its high demand in the tourism and corporate sectors. The 2025 model year will likely see very strong value retention over the next three years as it remains the current body style for the foreseeable future.

Performance & Capability

With 231 horsepower delivered through a refined automatic gearbox, this van handles more like a large SUV than a commercial vehicle. The 0-100 km/h sprint is handled with surprising agility for a 9-seater, making it confident when merging into fast-moving highway traffic. Front-wheel drive provides excellent stability and predictable handling on paved roads, which is where this vehicle will spend most of its time. The suspension is tuned for comfort, effortlessly soaking up road imperfections and speed bumps commonly found in residential districts. While it is not an off-road vehicle, its ground clearance is more than adequate for gravel paths leading to beach resorts or desert farmhouses. The braking system is particularly robust, designed to bring a fully loaded cabin to a halt safely and consistently even in extreme heat.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in space management, providing genuine room for nine or more passengers without feeling cramped. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered to handle the intense GCC climate, featuring powerful blowers and multiple vents that can drop the interior temperature rapidly even after the car has been parked in the sun. Large sliding doors on both sides make entry and exit effortless in tight parking spots, a massive advantage for family use. The cockpit features the latest MBUX infotainment system with a clear touchscreen and seamless smartphone integration, allowing for easy navigation through busy city streets. Sound insulation is excellent, keeping the roar of the highway and the whistling of the wind outside where it belongs, ensuring conversations can be held easily between the front and back rows.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of this trim, featuring a suite of driver assistance systems that are particularly useful on long GCC desert roads. Standard features include Attention Assist, which monitors for driver fatigue, and Crosswind Assist, which is invaluable when driving through open desert stretches prone to sudden gusts. The vehicle is equipped with multiple airbags that provide coverage for all rows, ensuring total passenger protection. Blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assistance come as standard on this trim, providing an extra layer of security on multi-lane highways like the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Unlike many competitors that offer these as optional extras, this model includes them as standard, contributing to its top-tier NCAP safety rating.

The bottom line

This 2025 9-seater is the ideal choice for a large family or a premium transport company looking for the best in German engineering with a full capacity layout. As a brand-new model in the most desirable color and trim, it represents a safe, high-value investment in a market where executive-spec vans are always in short supply.
