Summary

This 2025 MG 3 Standard presents a compelling opportunity for city commuters, featuring a mileage of 42,122 km that is well within the expected range for a high-use GCC vehicle after its first year. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, offering excellent dust masking and maintaining strong resale appeal. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from localized cooling and a widespread service network across the UAE and neighboring countries. This hatchback stands out by offering modern digital cabin tech that typically requires a premium in its segment, making it a sharp, value-led choice for daily driving.

This Car vs Other 2025 MG 3s

With 42,122 km on the clock, this MG 3 has been driven more than the global average but remains within the typical high-utilization band for UAE highway commuters. The Grey paintwork is one of the most resilient colors for the GCC climate, resisting the visible effects of sand and heat while holding its value better than more niche shades. It represents a mechanically sound, road-tested option for those seeking a modern hatchback without the steep initial depreciation of a showroom-fresh unit.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the base entry in the 2025 lineup, the Standard trim focuses on essential modern technology, including the 10.25-inch central touchscreen and a 7-inch digital driver display. It omits the 360-degree camera and leatherette upholstery found in Luxury grades to prioritize mechanical simplicity and a lower cost of entry. Crucially for GCC buyers, it retains the core infotainment features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that are often missing from entry-level rivals.

MG 3 vs Segment Rivals

The MG 3 competes directly with the Toyota Yaris and Kia Rio, distinguishing itself with a much larger standard infotainment screen and a more contemporary interior design. While rivals often rely on older naturally aspirated power plants, the MG 3 provides a balance of efficiency and tech-forward features at a more accessible price point. Its 45-litre fuel tank ensures fewer stops during long-distance drives between Emirates compared to some smaller-capacity competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is a highlight, with an official combined rating of 6.1 L/100km, though GCC city traffic may see figures closer to 7.5 L/100km. Service intervals are typically scheduled every 10,000 km or 12 months, supported by an extensive authorized network including InterEmirates Motors in the UAE. MG has seen rapid brand growth in the region, leading to more stable resale values that compete closely with established Korean counterparts.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine, the MG 3 delivers 109 hp, providing zippy performance for city lane-changing and adequate power for cruising at 120 km/h on the E11. Independent testing has recorded a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 10.8 seconds, which is competitive for a non-turbocharged B-segment hatchback. The front-wheel-drive layout and compact 2.57-meter wheelbase make it exceptionally easy to park in crowded urban areas like Dubai Marina or Downtown Riyadh.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the modern driver, anchored by the dual-screen digital cockpit that brings a premium feel to the Standard trim. Practicality is managed through 293 litres of boot space, which is sufficient for weekly grocery runs or two small carry-on suitcases. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for the extreme heat of the GCC, ensuring rapid cabin cooling even during peak summer months.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes dual front and side airbags, electronic stability control, and an anti-lock braking system to ensure stability on both paved and sandy road edges. It also features rear parking sensors and a rearview camera as standard, providing essential assistance in tight city parking spots. The inclusion of Hill Start Assist and Cornering Brake Control offers additional peace of mind for varied driving conditions across the region.

The bottom line

Perfect for the urban professional or first-time buyer in the UAE, this MG 3 offers 2025-model-year technology and GCC reliability at a significant value compared to new alternatives.
