Summary

This 2025 MG 3 offers a compelling entry point for city drivers, balancing modern tech with high efficiency that suits the GCC commute. Its silver exterior is a strategic choice for the region, known for reflecting the summer heat and maintaining strong resale demand in local markets. With just over 36,000 km, this hatchback is mechanically settled and ready for daily duties across the UAE's high-speed road networks. Compared to rivals, the MG 3 stands out by providing a high-tech digital cockpit usually found in more expensive segments, backed by a growing and accessible service network across the Gulf.

This Car vs Other 2025 MG 3s

With 36,320 km, this vehicle has slightly higher mileage than the typical 20,000 km annual GCC average, suggesting a year of active highway use between Emirates rather than stop-start city idling. The silver paintwork is a significant asset in the used market, consistently ranking as a top-three color for value retention in Dubai and Riyadh. It provides a near-new ownership experience with the steepest part of the initial depreciation already realized.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the base trim in the GCC lineup, the Standard model provides the essential tech that modern drivers expect, including the large 10.25-inch infotainment screen and Apple CarPlay. Unlike lower-tier economy cars in the segment, it retains critical safety equipment like rear parking sensors and a rearview camera as standard. It serves as a focused, high-value alternative to the COM and LUX trims for those prioritizing running costs over cosmetic upgrades like alloy wheels.

MG 3 vs Segment Rivals

The MG 3 competes directly with the Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Yaris, where it leads with a more advanced digital interior and superior infotainment size. While rivals focus on traditional layouts, the MG 3 offers a 7-inch digital instrument cluster that appeals to tech-conscious buyers. Its 1.5L engine is specifically tuned for a balance of urban agility and highway stability, making it more composed at high speeds than smaller-displacement competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a standout feature, achieving 16.4 km/L (6.1 L/100km) under the WLTP cycle, which keeps monthly running costs low even with extensive highway travel. The naturally aspirated 1.5L engine is compatible with 91-octane fuel, further reducing costs at the pump compared to premium-only models. MG’s authorized service centers are now widely available across all major GCC cities, and this generation is projected to retain approximately 60-70% of its value over the first three years.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L 4-cylinder engine produces 109 HP, which is ample for a vehicle weighing approximately 1,162 kg, allowing for a 0-100 km/h time of roughly 10.8 seconds. This lightweight design ensures the CVT automatic transmission responds quickly during lane changes on fast-moving UAE highways. A 42-litre fuel tank provides a theoretical range of nearly 690 km, reducing the frequency of refueling during long-distance drives across the borders.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for functional comfort, featuring fabric seats that remain cooler in the extreme GCC summer than leather alternatives. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, a vital feature for maintaining comfort during the peak heat months in the Gulf. The 293-litre boot is surprisingly spacious for the sub-compact class, and the folding rear seats allow for the transport of larger items like grocery runs or small furniture.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Front and Side Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). The standard Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is particularly useful in the GCC, where high road temperatures can affect tire health on long highway stretches. ISOFIX child seat anchors and speed-sensing door locks are also standard, ensuring it meets modern family safety requirements.

The bottom line

Perfect for the pragmatic urban commuter, this 2025 MG 3 combines high-end cabin tech with exceptional fuel economy in a resale-friendly color.
