Toyota Land Cruiser GXR

Highlights

• Low-range transfer case with locking differentials
• 110-litre fuel tank standard
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2025 Land Cruiser GXR offers a perfect balance of modern LC300 refinement and the bulletproof reliability of the 4.0L V6 naturally aspirated engine. With 32,000 km, it sits comfortably within the expected mileage for a high-utility GCC vehicle of its age, while its white exterior remains the most sought-after color for heat reflection and resale value. The GXR trim provides the essential comfort upgrades—including a power-adjustable driver seat and enhanced safety tech—that make it a superior daily driver compared to base models. For a buyer in the GCC, this represents an opportunity to own a current-generation icon that is notoriously difficult to secure new without long waitlists. It remains the segment leader for anyone prioritizing a massive service network and long-term mechanical durability.

This Car vs Other 2025 Land Cruisers

With 32,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle is tracking slightly above the GCC average of 25,000 km per year, likely due to highway commuting between emirates. However, for a Land Cruiser, this is considered just the end of the break-in period, and the white paintwork ensures it maintains the highest possible liquidity and price floor in the regional used market.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the EXR by adding premium interior materials, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Crucially for GCC buyers, it includes enhanced driver assistance features like a Rear-View Camera with improved parking sensors and LED front fog lamps that aren't standard on the base utility specs.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Nissan Patrol offer more horsepower, the Land Cruiser leads with its massive 110-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for long-distance desert crossings or cross-border travel. Its body-on-frame construction and the specific 4.0L V6 powertrain are widely regarded as more durable for extreme heat than the turbocharged alternatives found in modern American competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages around 11.7 L/100km in combined GCC conditions, reaching approximately 14.2 L/100km in heavy city traffic. Service intervals are a standard 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. This model historically retains over 70-80% of its value after three years, outperforming almost every other SUV in the segment.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 is paired with a robust 6-speed automatic transmission designed for longevity over complexity. With a verified ground clearance of 235 mm and a dedicated low-range transfer case with a rear differential lock, it is fully equipped for serious weekend dune bashing. On the highway, the naturally aspirated engine provides smooth, predictable power delivery ideal for the 140 km/h cruising speeds common in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is configured for family flexibility, featuring dedicated rear AC vents that are essential for maintaining cabin temperatures during GCC summers. The GXR cabin is well-insulated from exterior road noise and desert heat, featuring durable premium fabric or synthetic materials designed to withstand high UV exposure. Convenience is handled by a touchscreen multimedia system with essential smartphone integration.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GXR includes a suite of airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Traction Control (TRC) optimized for sandy surfaces. It also features Hill-Start Assist and Downhill Assist Control, which provide critical safety margins when navigating steep dunes or mountain passes in the Northern Emirates or Oman. The inclusion of Toyota Safety Sense elements provides peace of mind for high-speed highway commuting.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the prestige and capability of the latest LC300 generation with the most reliable engine Toyota has ever built, this GXR is the safest investment in the market.
