• Dual fuel tanks with 180-litre total capacity
• Body-on-frame construction with four-wheel drive

Summary

This 2025 Land Cruiser 78 is a rare find in the GCC market, combining the legendary reliability of a 1-year-old vehicle with exceptionally low mileage for the region. Its Heritage Beige exterior is the most sought-after color for the 70 Series, ensuring this specific unit will command a significant premium at resale. As a 40th Anniversary edition, it bridges the gap between classic utilitarian design and modern daily usability with an automatic transmission that handles stop-start city traffic far better than manual variants. For a buyer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, this is the ultimate investment in a vehicle that is essentially unkillable, holding its value better than almost any other SUV on the road today.

This Car vs Other 2025 Land Cruiser 70s

With just 18,033 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the 25,000 km annual average typical for GCC drivers. While many 70 Series are put to work in harsh industrial or desert settings, this unit remains in pristine condition, offering a massive head start on mechanical longevity. The Beige paint is a top-tier resale asset in the Gulf, outperforming white or silver for this specific enthusiast model.

LC 78 40TH ANNIVERSARY 4.0L AT vs Lower Trims

The 40th Anniversary trim adds exclusive heritage badging, a more refined wood-grain interior finish, and a modern touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unlike the base commercial variants, this model features a 6-speed automatic transmission and a center console refrigerator, making it significantly more comfortable for long-distance family travel or weekend expeditions.

Land Cruiser 70 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol Super Safari, the Land Cruiser 70 Series offers a more robust body-on-frame architecture and a massive 180-litre dual-tank system that provides unmatched range for deep-desert crossings. While the Jeep Wrangler may offer more technical rock-crawling features, it cannot match the Toyota's reputation for withstanding 50-degree summer heat over decades of ownership.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is famously over-engineered, requiring simple service intervals every 10,000 km at any of the extensive authorized networks across the UAE and KSA. Resale value for the 70 Series is legendary, often retaining 80-90% of its value after three years, which is the highest in the GCC SUV segment. Fuel consumption reflects its heavy-duty nature, but the 180-litre capacity minimizes stops on long highway hauls.

Performance & Capability

The naturally aspirated V6 produces a verified 228 hp and 360 Nm of torque, delivered through a part-time 4WD system with a low-range transfer case. With a ground clearance of 235 mm and a high-mounted snorkel as standard, this 78 series is built to wade through deep sand and wadis without hesitation. The automatic transmission is tuned for durability, ensuring smooth power delivery even under heavy loads or during steep dune climbs.

Comfort & Cabin

The 40th Anniversary interior features upgraded fabric seats and a 4-seater configuration that provides more breathing room than the standard bench-seat workhorse models. A powerful GCC-spec air conditioning system is complemented by a cooled center glovebox, an essential feature for keeping drinks cold during summer drives. The cabin is simplified for durability but includes modern touches like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a clear digital clock.

Safety

Standard safety features include dual front airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Active Traction Control (A-TRC), which are vital for maintaining composure on loose gravel and sand. The 2025 model also benefits from Hill-Start Assist Control and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System to ensure safety during high-temperature highway cruises. Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution provide reliable stopping power, even when the vehicle is fully loaded.

The bottom line

This is a collector-grade 40th Anniversary edition that offers a turnkey solution for someone wanting the world's most durable SUV with the convenience of an automatic gearbox. It is a blue-chip automotive investment that is as capable of crossing the Empty Quarter as it is holding its value in a premium showroom.
