Summary

This 2026 Avatr 12 Performance represents the cutting edge of Range-Extended Electric Vehicles (REEV), offering the silent luxury of an EV with a petrol backup for the longest GCC highway stretches. As a brand-new vehicle in a high-demand white exterior, it holds a strong resale position in the UAE market where range anxiety and heat-resilient luxury are top priorities. The Performance trim elevates the experience with Huawei’s most advanced intelligent driving suite and a cabin that rivals high-end European gran coupes. It stands out by merging Huawei's tech ecosystem with CATL’s latest battery innovations, making it a sophisticated choice for those moving away from traditional petrol luxury. This is a unique opportunity to own a 2026 model that solves the range challenge while maintaining a futuristic, high-performance profile.

This Car vs Other 2026 Avatr 12s

As a 2026 model with delivery mileage, this vehicle avoids the high initial depreciation typically seen in the first year of luxury ownership. Its white exterior is a strategic choice for the GCC, offering superior heat reflection and the highest liquidity in the secondary market. Compared to pure electric versions, this REEV variant provides significantly more utility for cross-emirate travel without requiring frequent charging stops.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim upgrades the standard REEV experience with a more powerful dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and the full Huawei Qiankun ADS suite featuring multiple LiDAR sensors. Inside, it adds premium touches like the 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system and 'Zero-Gravity' front seats with advanced massage functions. It also includes the rear entertainment sky-screen and enhanced acoustic glass, features often omitted in base Max or Pro specifications.

Avatr 12 vs Segment Rivals

The Avatr 12 competes directly with the Zeekr 001 and the Lucid Air, leading the segment with its unique no-rear-window 'Gran Coupe' design and integrated 35.4-inch 4K dashboard. Its REEV powertrain offers a total range of over 1,200 km, easily outdistancing pure-electric rivals on long desert hauls between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. The cabin technology, powered by HarmonyOS, provides a more seamless smartphone-to-car experience than traditional luxury brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low for a luxury sedan, as the 1.5L range-extender qualifies for high fuel efficiency while the electric motor handles daily city commutes in stop-start traffic. This Chinese-spec vehicle benefits from an increasingly robust parts pipeline shared with Changan's existing GCC network, though owners should verify local software support for the HarmonyOS system. Expected depreciation follows the trend of high-end tech-forward EVs, but the REEV powertrain typically retains better value in the GCC due to its broader buyer appeal for long-distance driving.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor setup delivers 400 kW of power, providing the instant torque required for confident highway overtaking in fast-moving UAE traffic. It transitions seamlessly between its 52 kWh CATL battery and the petrol generator, ensuring consistent performance even when the battery is low. The All-Wheel Drive system ensures maximum traction on sandy road shoulders and during rare wet weather, while the low center of gravity provides stability at high speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC heat, featuring Nappa leather ventilated seats and a powerful multi-zone climate control system designed for extreme temperatures. The 'halo' interior lighting and open-pore wood finishes create a lounge-like atmosphere, complemented by the silence of the electric drivetrain. Passengers benefit from a massive 3,020 mm wheelbase, providing limousine-level legroom and a dedicated rear entertainment screen for long family trips.

Safety

Safety is headlined by the Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 system, which uses three LiDAR units to provide 360-degree environmental sensing, crucial for detecting fast-moving vehicles on multi-lane highways. Standard features include a comprehensive 12-airbag system, high-resolution 360° cameras, and autonomous emergency braking that performs reliably in high-glare conditions. The chassis is built on a high-strength steel-aluminum hybrid platform designed to meet 5-star global safety standards.

The bottom line

For the tech-forward executive who refuses to choose between electric performance and petrol convenience, this 2026 Avatr 12 Performance is the most advanced gran coupe currently on the market.
