Summary

This 2026 Changan X5 Plus in Beyond Pro trim offers a compelling combination of zero-mileage freshness and modern tech for the GCC market. With its striking white exterior—a top choice for local resale and heat management—this compact SUV stands out with a punchy 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that balances city agility with highway confidence. The Beyond Pro trim adds essential regional upgrades like rear AC vents and a 540-degree camera system that rivals often reserve for premium segments. For buyers in the UAE and wider GCC, this vehicle represents a smart bridge between budget-friendly economy and high-spec European-style features.

This Car vs Other 2026 X5 Pluses

As a current-year model with delivery mileage, this X5 Plus avoids the typical 25,000 km annual wear seen on many used GCC crossovers. The white paint is the most practical choice for the region, ensuring better thermal management during summer and high demand in the secondary market. Being the Beyond Pro variant, it carries a higher technology floor than the more basic Pioneer versions frequently found in export stocks.

BEYOND PRO vs Lower Trims

The Beyond Pro trim is a significant step up from the Pioneer and Deluxe versions, most notably adding the essential rear climate vents required for GCC passenger comfort. It also upgrades the cabin with a triple-screen digital cockpit and a 540-degree transparent chassis camera system, which provides much better visibility for tight urban parking than the standard rearview setup. You also gain the full Level 2 intelligent driving suite, including adaptive cruise control.

X5 Plus vs Segment Rivals

The X5 Plus competes directly with the Haval H6 and Geely Coolray, distinguishing itself with a more sophisticated multi-link rear suspension compared to the torsion beams often found in this class. Its 192-horsepower output provides a sharper 0-100 km/h time than many entry-level Japanese crossovers, making it more capable for fast-moving highway merges in Dubai or Riyadh. The 2,715mm wheelbase also ensures rear legroom that punches above its compact SUV classification.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel efficiency is strong for the GCC, with a WLTC combined rating of 6.95 L/100km that handles stop-start city traffic efficiently. While Chinese brands face steeper initial depreciation than Japanese stalwarts like Toyota, Changan has established a robust authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, supporting long-term value. Parts availability is excellent in major trade hubs, ensuring that maintenance remains straightforward even outside the initial warranty period.

Performance & Capability

The Blue Whale 1.5T engine is the star here, delivering 192 hp and 310 Nm of torque, which allows for effortless overtaking on long desert highways. The 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission is tuned for smooth shifts, avoiding the overheating issues sometimes associated with dry-clutch systems in high-temperature climates. With a top speed of 205 km/h and multiple drive modes, it feels stable and composed during cross-border trips or weekend drives between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for the modern driver, featuring integrated sports seats in perforated leatherette that remain comfortable during long commutes. The 30-inch triple-screen setup brings high-end infotainment to the segment, while the panoramic sunroof features a powered sunshade to block intense midday sun. Ample storage and a nearly flat rear floor make it a practical choice for families, offering 584 liters of cargo space for groceries or travel gear.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on the Beyond Pro, featuring a full ADAS suite with Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist to manage fast-moving highway traffic. Passive safety is bolstered by a high-strength steel cage and a full array of airbags, while the 540-degree camera system acts as a crucial aid for navigating cluttered urban environments. Standard ISOFIX anchors and stability control provide extra peace of mind for family-oriented buyers.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a brand-new, tech-heavy SUV without the premium price tag, this high-trim X5 Plus offers the perfect balance of performance and regional practicality.
