Summary

The 2026 Changan X5 Plus Beyond Pro is a tech-forward compact SUV that punches well above its weight in the GCC market. With zero kilometers on the clock and the striking glacier white finish—a top choice for local heat reflection and high resale value—it presents a compelling alternative to more expensive rivals. Its Blue Whale 1.5T engine produces a punchy 190 hp, making it ideal for both quick city maneuvers in Dubai and steady cruising between Emirates. This Beyond Pro trim specifically balances premium tech with practical urban dimensions, offering a high-feature entry point for young professionals or small families. Given the brand's rapid expansion in the region, this is a sharp opportunity to secure a next-generation SUV with class-leading screen real estate and modern safety features.

This Car vs Other 2026 X5 Pluses

As a brand-new 2026 model, this vehicle sits at the very start of its lifecycle, offering a significant mechanical advantage over older used crossovers. The glacier white exterior is the most practical choice for the GCC climate, ensuring both lower cabin temperatures and a wider pool of buyers at resale. With zero kilometers, you bypass the typical 25,000 km annual wear seen on GCC-used cars, securing a fresh factory-feel interior.

BEYOND PRO vs Lower Trims

The Beyond Pro trim is a major leap over the entry-level variants, adding the immersive 30-inch triple-screen display that defines the modern Changan cabin. Unlike lower trims, this version includes the 540° panoramic camera system with a transparent chassis view, essential for navigating tight urban parking. You also benefit from L2-level intelligent driving assistance and a premium Sony 6-speaker audio system, features often missing from basic fleet-focused models.

X5 Plus vs Segment Rivals

The X5 Plus competes directly with the Haval H6 and Geely Coolray, leading with a longer 2,715mm wheelbase that results in superior rear legroom for its class. Its Blue Whale powertrain delivers a more responsive 310 Nm of torque compared to many naturally aspirated competitors, providing better highway overtaking confidence. The wrap-around triple-screen setup offers significantly more display area than the standard dual-screen configurations found in most Japanese and Korean rivals in this price segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect a combined fuel economy of approximately 6.95 L/100km (WLTC), which is highly efficient for GCC highway commuting. The 51-litre fuel tank is well-suited for long-distance driving across the UAE or into Saudi Arabia. Changan's authorized service network is growing rapidly across the GCC, offering competitive maintenance costs compared to European brands. The model typically retains 63-67% of its value over three years, benefiting from increasing local trust in the Blue Whale engine's reliability.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5T Blue Whale engine provides 190 hp and 310 Nm of torque, enabling a swift 0–100 km/h time of 7.51 seconds. The 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission is optimized for smooth shifts in stop-start traffic while maintaining a top speed of 205 km/h for the open road. While designed as a front-wheel-drive urban crossover, its independent multi-link rear suspension offers a composed ride over uneven surfaces and gravel paths commonly found during weekend excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the driver-focused cockpit features integrated sports seats with electric adjustment and premium materials. The dual-zone automatic climate control is specifically designed to handle extreme heat, supplemented by dedicated rear air vents to keep all five passengers comfortable. Storage is a major highlight, with a generous 584-litre boot that expands to 1,318 litres, easily accommodating family luggage or grocery runs.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on the Beyond Pro trim, featuring a full suite of six airbags and high-strength steel construction. Active systems include Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking, which are particularly valuable for high-speed GCC highway safety. The 540° panoramic imaging system ensures you have total visibility not just around the car, but also beneath the chassis to avoid obstacles in complex environments.

The bottom line

This 2026 Changan X5 Plus Beyond Pro is the perfect match for the tech-savvy urban driver who demands premium features and strong performance without the luxury badge tax.
