Chery Arrizo 5 COMFORT

Highlights

• Best fuel economy in class
• Lowest running cost in class
• 5-Star NCAP safety rating

Summary

This Chery Arrizo 5 represents a highly strategic purchase for a savvy buyer in the GCC market, offering a near-new driving experience with significantly lower entry barriers than a brand-new showroom model. Given its exceptionally low mileage for a 2026 model year vehicle, it has barely finished its break-in period, ensuring the mechanical components are in peak condition for the harsh regional climate. The Grey exterior is a sophisticated, practical choice that hides dust well—a major advantage for daily commuting in the UAE and Saudi Arabia—while maintaining a strong resale profile. As the COMFORT trim, it strikes the perfect balance between essential modern technology and the mechanical simplicity required for long-term reliability. This sedan stands out from its Japanese and Korean rivals by offering a more comprehensive feature set at a more accessible price point without sacrificing build quality. For a GCC buyer, the single most important factor here is the peace of mind provided by a vehicle that is still effectively in its youth, backed by a growing and robust service network across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2026 Arrizo 5s

When compared to other 2026 Arrizo 5 units currently available in the GCC used market, this specific vehicle sits in a very favorable position due to its odometer reading of just 14,000 km. While the average annual mileage for a commuter sedan in the GCC typically ranges between 20,000 and 25,000 km, this car has been driven significantly less than the regional average, suggesting it has been used primarily for short city trips or as a secondary family vehicle. The Grey paintwork is one of the most resilient colors for our environment, as it does not show the fine 'swirl marks' from sand as easily as black or dark blue, making it a favorite for used car buyers who value a clean aesthetic with minimal maintenance. Choosing a 2026 model year with such low usage allows you to benefit from the steepest part of the depreciation curve having already passed, while the car itself remains aesthetically and mechanically indistinguishable from a zero-kilometer unit. This is a rare opportunity to secure a late-model GCC-spec sedan that still feels and smells like it just left the dealership floor.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the COMFORT trim provides a tangible upgrade in the daily driving experience that GCC buyers will immediately appreciate. While base trims often feel utilitarian, the COMFORT trim introduces a more refined cabin environment with upgraded upholstery materials that are better suited for the high-temperature summers of the region. You will find enhanced infotainment capabilities and better smartphone integration, which is essential for navigating the complex highway systems of Dubai, Riyadh, or Kuwait City. Additionally, this trim level often includes aesthetic upgrades such as alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights that significantly improve the car's presence on the road and its eventual resale value. Perhaps the most critical upgrade is the inclusion of a more sophisticated air conditioning interface and better interior insulation, which helps the cabin reach a comfortable temperature much faster after being parked in the sun. These small but significant details make the COMFORT trim a much more logical choice for those who spend significant time in their vehicle.

Arrizo 5 vs Segment Rivals

The Arrizo 5 competes in a crowded segment against established names like the Toyota Yaris, Nissan Sunny, and Hyundai Accent, yet it manages to lead in several key areas that matter to local drivers. One of its primary advantages is the interior packaging; it offers a wider cabin feel than the Sunny, providing better shoulder room for three adult passengers in the rear, which is a major plus for family use. The 1.5L engine is specifically tuned for efficiency, often outperforming the Yaris in real-world fuel economy during the high-load conditions of a GCC summer when the AC is running at maximum capacity. Furthermore, the Arrizo 5 provides a more modern interior layout with a larger touchscreen and more intuitive digital displays than many entry-level Japanese rivals, which can often feel dated in their base configurations. For the driver who wants a car that feels like a 2026 model inside and out rather than a carry-over design from a decade ago, this Chery is the clear frontrunner in the segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs for the Arrizo 5 are among the lowest in the sedan segment, making it an ideal choice for high-mileage commuters or fleet operators. The 1.5L 4-cylinder engine is designed to run efficiently on 91 or 95 octane fuel, both of which are widely available and affordable across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. In stop-start traffic in major GCC cities, the car maintains impressive fuel economy, while on the highway, it settles into a lean cruise that maximizes the range of its fuel tank. Service intervals are standardized, and because this is a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully compatible with the extensive authorized service networks in all major Emirates and across the border into neighboring GCC states. While Chery historically had higher depreciation than some Japanese brands, the latest generation of the Arrizo 5 has shown much stronger value retention, typically losing only 12–15% in its second and third years, which is highly competitive. Buying this 2026 model now means you have bypassed the initial 'drive-off' depreciation, positioning you perfectly for a high-value resale in 3 to 5 years.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this Arrizo 5 is a reliable 1.5L engine producing 115 hp, which provides the perfect balance of pep for city driving and efficiency for the highway. The automatic transmission is tuned specifically for the smooth, flat roads of the GCC, ensuring that gear changes are almost imperceptible during your morning commute. While it is a front-wheel-drive sedan designed for efficiency, it handles the high-speed bypasses of the UAE with surprising stability and poise, even when crosswinds are present. The steering is light and effortless, making it incredibly easy to park in tight mall basements or navigate congested downtown areas. With a ground clearance that is well-suited for the occasional speed bump or uneven suburban road, it offers a worry-free driving experience. Performance here isn't about track times; it's about the car's ability to consistently deliver a comfortable, cool, and quiet ride regardless of the external temperature or traffic conditions, which it does exceptionally well.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside the cabin, the Arrizo 5 offers a space that punches well above its weight class in terms of design and ergonomics. The 5-seat layout is surprisingly spacious, with rear legroom that rivals cars in the segment above, ensuring that even tall adults can sit comfortably on longer trips between cities. For the GCC buyer, the air conditioning system is a standout feature; it is engineered to handle 45°C+ temperatures with ease, providing rapid cooling to both the front and rear of the cabin. The insulation from road and wind noise is impressive for a compact sedan, allowing for clear hands-free calls even at highway speeds. The Grey exterior is mirrored by a modern, dark-toned interior that is both stylish and resistant to the wear and tear of daily use. Storage is also a priority, with multiple cubby holes for phones and water bottles, and a boot capacity that easily swallows several large suitcases or a week's worth of family groceries, making it a versatile companion for any lifestyle.

Safety

Safety is a paramount consideration in the Arrizo 5, which boasts a 5-star NCAP rating, providing peace of mind for you and your passengers. This COMFORT trim comes equipped with a suite of active safety features, including advanced Electronic Stability Control and an Anti-lock Braking System that are vital for maintaining traction during the rare but hazardous rain showers or on sandy road surfaces. The car also features multiple airbags and a reinforced body structure designed to absorb and redirect impact energy away from the cabin. For the fast-paced driving environment of the GCC, the inclusion of rear parking sensors and a clear camera system makes maneuvering much safer and more convenient. Unlike many competitors that reserve these features for their 'Full Option' models, Chery includes these essential safety technologies as standard, ensuring that every journey you take is backed by modern protective engineering.

The bottom line

This 2026 Chery Arrizo 5 is a phenomenal opportunity for a buyer seeking a practically new vehicle with extremely low mileage at a pre-owned price point. It is the ideal choice for a professional commuter or a small family looking for a reliable, fuel-efficient, and modern sedan that is perfectly adapted to the GCC's demanding climate.
