Summary

This 2026 Palisade Calligraphy offers a refined entry into the flagship SUV segment with a turbocharged powertrain specifically suited for the GCC's long-distance driving. As the range-topping trim, the Calligraphy adds a level of interior finishing—including Nappa leather and massaging seats—that rivals European luxury competitors while maintaining Hyundai's legendary ease of maintenance. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the UAE and wider region, ensuring strong interest at resale. For families needing eight seats without sacrificing comfort during peak summer heat, this model stands out with its robust tri-zone cooling and ventilated seating across the first two rows. It represents a balanced investment for those prioritizing modern tech and generous cabin space in a high-value regional specification.

This Car vs Other 2026 Palisades

While typical GCC annual mileage for large SUVs often exceeds 25,000 km due to inter-emirate highway travel, this vehicle represents a fresh market entry with its latest 2.5T configuration. The black-on-black aesthetic is a perennial favorite for resale value in the local market, offering a more executive presence than the lighter silver or white alternatives common in fleet use.

CALLIGRAPHY vs Lower Trims

The Calligraphy trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the SEL and Limited with exclusive Nappa leather quilting and a dedicated Ergo-Motion driver’s seat featuring active massage functions. It also standardizes the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a full-display digital rearview mirror, and 21-inch wheels, providing a distinct visual and functional step up that GCC buyers prioritize for flagship models.

Palisade vs Segment Rivals

The Palisade leads segment rivals like the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander by offering a more comprehensive ADAS suite and a larger standard infotainment interface at this price point. Its all-wheel-drive system is specifically tuned for road stability and light sand track use, providing more confidence during weekend desert escapes than front-wheel-drive competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5T powertrain averages approximately 9.7 L/100km, which is efficient for a large eight-seater in GCC stop-start traffic. Hyundai’s authorized service network is one of the most extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, keeping maintenance costs predictable. Value retention for the Calligraphy trim remains strong, typically depreciating around 10-12% annually in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 281 hp turbocharged engine delivers a smooth 0–100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. With 203 mm of ground clearance and a 2,000 kg braked towing capacity, it is well-equipped for family camping trips and towing small watercraft. The HTRAC All-Wheel Drive system provides multiple terrain modes to optimize traction across gravel and wet surfaces common in the northern emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for the extreme GCC summer, the cabin features high-output tri-zone climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows and standard ventilated front and second-row seats. The 8-passenger layout is rare for the top trim, making this specific unit highly practical for larger families. Acoustic-laminated glass significantly reduces wind noise, maintaining a quiet environment during high-speed desert highway cruises.

Safety

This Calligraphy comes standard with a full ADAS suite including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, which is essential for busy multi-lane highway traffic. The 360-degree Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor make parking this large SUV in tight city malls effortless. It features a comprehensive 7-airbag system, including a driver's knee airbag, ensuring top-tier protection for all occupants.

The bottom line

This 2026 Palisade Calligraphy is the ideal choice for a family looking for flagship luxury and eight-seat utility with the peace of mind of a full GCC-spec warranty.
