Toyota Hiace STANDARD DSL

Highlights

• 1,145 kg net payload
• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• 9.3 cubic meters of loading space

Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hiace remains the gold standard for commercial reliability in the GCC, offering a massive 9.3 cubic meter cargo bay that is ideal for logistics and urban delivery. Its 2.8-litre diesel engine is tuned for durability and provides the consistent torque needed to move heavy payloads across the UAE's high-speed highways. For business owners, the combination of a low-maintenance manual gearbox and Toyota's industry-leading resale value makes this a low-risk, high-return asset. In the extreme summer heat of the Gulf, its heavy-duty cooling system and legendary air conditioning performance ensure both the driver and cargo stay protected. This specific white unit is a top-tier choice for resale, as white remains the most sought-after color for fleet and commercial buyers in the regional used market.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiaces

As a 2026 model, this Hiace is effectively a new vehicle with zero years of wear, offering the full lifespan of its mechanical components to the next owner. While many used commercial vans in the GCC accrue high mileage quickly due to long-distance courier routes, this listing provides a fresh start with components that have not yet faced the stress of heavy loading cycles. Choosing a zero-age vehicle also ensures the most recent safety enhancements and cabin ergonomics are present for long shifts behind the wheel.

STANDARD DSL vs Lower Trims

The Standard Diesel trim is the backbone of the Hiace range, focusing on a high-torque powertrain that outperforms the petrol alternatives for heavy-duty work. It includes a reinforced floor and multiple tie-down points designed for GCC logistics, along with a semi-bonnet design that improves safety and service access compared to older cab-over models. While higher passenger trims focus on seating, this cargo-focused variant maximizes internal volume and payload capacity for professional use.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

The Hiace consistently leads rivals like the Nissan Urvan and Hyundai Staria Load in terms of resale value and parts availability across all seven Emirates. Its 70-litre fuel tank and diesel efficiency provide a superior cruising range for cross-border trips or long hauls between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Toyota's cooling systems are specifically engineered for the 45-degree-plus temperatures of the Gulf, giving it a mechanical edge in summer durability that European competitors often struggle to match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.8-litre diesel engine averages approximately 7.7 L/100km on highways and roughly 11.4 L/100km in stop-start city traffic, such as in Riyadh or Dubai. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km at authorized GCC centers like Al-Futtaim or ALJ, which are found in almost every major city in the region. The Hiace holds a remarkable 65% of its value after three years in the UAE market, significantly outperforming its peers and ensuring a high return when it comes time to refresh your fleet.

Performance & Capability

The 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine produces 174 hp and a robust 420 Nm of torque, allowing it to maintain highway speeds even when carrying its maximum 1,145 kg payload. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration and 6-speed manual transmission provide the traction and control needed for steep loading ramps and heavy urban cargo work. With a compact 6.9-meter turning circle, it remains surprisingly agile for a large van, making it well-suited for navigating tight warehouse districts and narrow city streets.

Comfort & Cabin

The three-seat cabin is designed for the professional driver, featuring an ergonomic dashboard and a high-mounted 8-inch display audio system with smartphone integration. In the GCC climate, the powerful manual air conditioning system is built to cool the cabin rapidly after being parked in direct sunlight. The semi-bonnet layout also moves the engine forward, significantly reducing cabin noise and vibration levels compared to previous generations, which is a major comfort factor during long desert highway drives.

Safety

The 2026 Hiace comes equipped with essential safety systems for the modern road, including ABS, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Hill-start Assist Control to prevent rolling when fully loaded. Dual front airbags are standard, and the semi-bonnet design provides a genuine crumple zone that older vans lack. For GCC highway safety, the inclusion of a rear-view camera and parking sensors helps manage blind spots when reversing in busy commercial zones.

The bottom line

For a GCC business owner, this 2026 Hiace is the safest possible investment, offering maximum cargo volume and the region's best resale floor in a brand-new package.
