Summary

This 2026 Toyota Prado GXR represents a standout opportunity in the GCC market, offering the redesigned 250-series platform with exceptionally low mileage for its age. The black exterior is a high-demand choice for resale in the region, ensuring strong value retention when you decide to upgrade. As a GXR trim, it strikes the perfect balance between rugged capability and modern comfort, featuring the punchy new turbocharged powertrain that outclasses the previous generation's efficiency. For any GCC buyer, the combination of Toyota’s legendary reliability and a nearly new odometer reading makes this a secure, long-term investment. Whether you are navigating Riyadh's city traffic or planning a weekend in the Liwa dunes, this Prado is built to handle the heat and terrain with ease.

This Car vs Other 2026 Prados

With just 16,000 km on the clock, this Prado is well below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen across the GCC. This low usage effectively makes it a 'near-new' vehicle, offering the mechanical freshness of a showroom model with a black exterior that remains the gold standard for resale value in the UAE and Saudi markets. While many 2026 models in the used market have already seen heavy highway or desert use, this example retains its tight factory feel and pristine cabin condition.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim is the sweet spot of the 250-series lineup, adding significant luxury over the entry-level TXR. It introduces essential GCC comforts like ventilated and heated front seats, which are transformative during the peak summer months. Additionally, you benefit from a larger 12.3-inch multimedia display and premium leather-trimmed seating, features that significantly elevate the daily driving experience and command a higher price floor in the secondary market.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado leads the mid-size SUV segment against rivals like the Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Montero Sport, primarily through its massive 110-litre fuel tank which provides class-leading range for cross-border GCC drives. Its body-on-frame GA-F platform offers a level of durability and 'go-anywhere' confidence that monocoque competitors cannot match in deep sand. Furthermore, the specialized rear cooling system ensures that all seven passengers stay comfortable even in 45-degree heat, a common weak point for its American and European counterparts.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.4L turbo engine offers improved fuel efficiency over the outgoing V6, typically averaging around 10.6 km/L in mixed GCC conditions. Maintenance is exceptionally convenient thanks to the most extensive authorized service network in the region, with parts readily available from Dubai to Muscat. Toyota Prados historically enjoy some of the lowest depreciation rates in the Middle East, often retaining over 85% of their value after the first year, making the total cost of ownership remarkably low.

Performance & Capability

Generating 267 hp and 430 Nm of torque, the turbocharged four-cylinder provides immediate overtaking power on the fast-moving E11 highway. The full-time 4WD system, paired with a low-range transfer case and 221 mm of ground clearance, allows for serious desert exploration right out of the box. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, it is also one of the most capable vehicles in its class for hauling boats or trailers across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, with a third row that easily accommodates children for family school runs or folds flat for luggage on airport trips. GCC-specific features include a powerful tri-zone climate control system and a cooled center console box to keep beverages chilled during long desert commutes. The cabin is significantly quieter than the previous generation thanks to improved acoustic glass and better insulation from road and engine noise.

Safety

Standard on the GXR is the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite, which includes essential aids for high-speed GCC highways like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist. The vehicle is equipped with seven airbags and a 360-degree camera system, making it easier to maneuver in tight urban parking spots in downtown Dubai or Riyadh. Advanced stability control and Hill Start Assist provide an extra layer of protection when navigating loose gravel or steep sand dunes.

The bottom line

This is a rare chance to own the latest generation Prado GXR with ultra-low mileage and a high-resale color, perfectly suited for a family that demands both city luxury and desert-ready durability.
