Summary

This 2027 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG represents the latest evolution of the world's most recognizable luxury SUV, now featuring an electrified 48-volt powertrain for sharper response. In the GCC market, the black-on-black configuration remains the gold standard for resale, consistently outperforming bolder colors when it comes time to trade. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it comes fully prepared for regional conditions with an cooling system and filtration suite designed to handle extreme desert heat and dust. For the serious buyer, this specific model year introduces the updated MBUX system and the essential 'Transparent Hood' technology, making it the most technologically advanced G-Wagon ever offered in the region.

This Car vs Other 2027 G63 AMGs

While typical high-performance SUVs in the UAE cover 20,000 km annually, this 2027 model enters the market as a fresh example of the current generation. The black exterior is the most sought-after color in the GCC used market, ensuring faster turnover and higher price retention than unique or seasonal shades. Choosing a GCC-spec model over a regional import is critical here, as it guarantees local warranty support and a cooling system built for 50°C summers.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

Choosing the AMG G63 over the G500 adds the handcrafted V8 engine and the AMG-specific Active Ride Control, which uses hydraulic roll stabilization to keep the vehicle flat through fast corners. This trim upgrades the interior to AMG Nappa leather and adds the performance-focused 'Offroad Cockpit' with a 360° camera system as standard. GCC buyers specifically value the G63 for its side-exit exhaust system and more aggressive body styling, which are absent on lower trims.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Lamborghini Urus or Land Rover Defender 130, the G63 offers a unique body-on-frame construction that provides superior durability for desert terrain. Its 100-litre fuel tank provides a significant range advantage for long-distance drives across the Emirates or into Saudi Arabia compared to rivals with smaller tanks. The G63 also holds its value better than almost any other luxury SUV in the segment, often trading near its original MSRP even after two years.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the V8 biturbo averages roughly 15-17 L/100km in GCC city traffic, though the new mild-hybrid system improves efficiency during stop-start driving. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km at authorized Mercedes-Benz centers, which are extensively available across all major GCC cities. The G63 enjoys the lowest depreciation rate in its class, typically losing only 8-12% in its first three years compared to the 15-20% seen by luxury rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 585 hp V8 biturbo engine delivers a verified 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.3 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on high-speed UAE highways. With three 100% independent locking differentials and a low-range transfer case, it remains one of the few luxury vehicles truly capable of serious dune bashing. The 2027 model features 241 mm of ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, making it as capable in a desert wadi as it is in the city.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features the latest MBUX dual-screen setup and a Burmester 3D Surround Sound system as standard, providing an acoustic sanctuary from outside heat. Ventilated front seats and a powerful three-zone climate control system are engineered to bring the cabin to a comfortable temperature within minutes of a hot start. The upright seating position provides the best visibility in the segment, a crucial advantage for navigating both tight city parking and technical off-road trails.

Safety

Standard safety tech includes the full Driver Assistance Package with Active Steering Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, which are highly useful for long desert highway drives. The 360° camera includes a 'Transparent Hood' function, allowing you to see obstacles directly under the front wheels on the central display. Active Brake Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring come standard, providing essential protection in the fast-moving, multi-lane traffic common in major GCC hubs.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer, this 2027 G63 AMG in black is the ultimate combination of status, performance, and unmatched value retention. It is the perfect opportunity to own the updated facelifted model with full local support and the region's most preferred specification.
