Introduction

The Subaru Tribeca, produced between 2005 and 2014, was a mid-size crossover SUV designed to expand Subaru’s appeal to families and premium buyers. Originally launched as the B9 Tribeca, it marked Subaru’s first attempt at a larger SUV with three rows of seating. While its styling was polarizing at launch, later redesigns improved its acceptance in the market.

The Tribeca’s exterior initially featured a unique airplane-inspired grille, which was later replaced by a more conventional and elegant design. Interior

Inside, the Tribeca offered a high-quality cabin with seating for up to seven passengers. The interior was well-equipped, featuring leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, and optional rear-seat entertainment. Its flowing dashboard design and premium materials made it one of Subaru’s most upscale interiors of the time.

The Tribeca prioritized safety, with features such as multiple airbags, ABS brakes, traction control, and Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system. Later models added electronic stability control and active head restraints. It received strong safety ratings, reflecting Subaru’s commitment to passenger protection.

Engine Trims

The Tribeca was initially powered by a 3.0L flat-six engine producing 245 hp, later upgraded to a 3.6L flat-six with 256 hp. Both engines were paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and Subaru’s AWD system. The engines provided smooth performance suitable for highway cruising and family use.

Maintenance

Maintenance of the Tribeca is comparable to other Subaru SUVs, requiring regular oil changes, timing belt inspections, and AWD servicing.
