2021 Lexus LS gets mild redesign, new tech and comfort

First introduced in 2017, the 2021 Lexus LS will receive its first facelift since its introduction. For the new model year, the new LS adopts similar styling to the recently unveiled Lexus IS.

Starting with the front end, the new LS gets three-bulb headlights with an L-shaped DRLs, a refreshed number with angular side intakes and chrome trim. The grille is now finished in dark metallic.

Other exterior changes include piano black trim and new LED signature for the taillights. F Sport trim levels get a unique set of 20-inch wheels and a dedicated colour for the grille.

On the subject of colours, the 2021 Lexus LS gains a new finish; Gin-ei Luster.

But its much more than just a new face for the new MY, Lexus engineers have focused on elevating the saloon’s dynamics, comfort and quietness.

Inside, there’s a new 12.3-inch wide touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and SmartDeviceLink. Steering wheel buttons are now finished in black, and there’s a new switch for the seat heaters.

As mentioned before, Lexus has also turned its attention to the quietness of the cabin with both the petrol and hybrid version undergoing Active Noise Control and Engine Sound Management tuning.

On the tech front, the 2021 LS Lexus gets an AI-powered Lexus Teammate advanced driving assist suite. It will first be made available in Japan and later in other markets.

The system supports driving capabilities by keeping the vehicle in lane, maintaining vehicle-to-vehicle distance and overtaking other vehicles.

Pricing for the 2021 Lexus LS has not been revealed in the UAE nor has availability. The vehicle should arrive later this year, or early next year.
