Brad Pitt’s F1 Movie Gets A New Limited-Edition Brand Ambassador—Mercedes-AMG GT APXGP

Mercedes-AMG has introduced one of its most exclusive cars to date — the AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ “APXGP Edition”. Limited to just 52 units globally, this high-performance coupé is more than just a collector’s dream. It’s a tribute to the upcoming Formula 1 film “F1”, starring Brad Pitt and produced by Apple Original Films. 

Revealed during the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, this special edition celebrates the bond between real-world motorsport and Hollywood storytelling. Although Mercedes-Benz has not officially announced the prices of this limited-edition Mercedes-AMG GT, it could cost around AED 1 Million.

Exterior Design

The Mercedes-AMG GT APXGP Edition stands out with a design inspired by the fictional APXGP Formula 1 team from the film. It wears a special paint finish developed specifically for this version, with race gold detailing carefully applied by hand. Gold accents appear on the grille frame, front wings (with a chequered-flag motif), side skirts, rear apron, and diffuser. Matching the theme, the 21-inch AMG forged wheels are finished in matte race gold.

Inside, the Mercedes-AMG GT APXGP Edition maintains its race-inspired theme with black Nappa leather and MICROCUT microfibre upholstery, detailed with gold-coloured stitching. The stitching is present not only on the seats but also on the door panels, steering wheel, dashboard, and centre console. Carbon fibre trim with gold thread adds an extra layer of sophistication, while the heated AMG Performance steering wheel is also wrapped in MICROCUT with a race gold centre marking.

Engine, Gearbox & Performance

At its core, the Mercedes-AMG GT APXGP Edition is a true AMG performance machine. Powering the car is a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, delivering 585hp. This is paired with AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, ensuring maximum traction and performance in all conditions. The car also features AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with semi-active roll stabilisation and rear-axle steering, making it agile in corners and stable at high speeds.

While exact performance figures were not quoted, similar AMG GT models typically accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just over 3 seconds, supported by active aerodynamics and a bonded aluminium body structure for reduced weight and improved dynamics. This means owners get supercar-level performance with surprising practicality.

Exclusivity

Only 52 units of the AMG GT “APXGP Edition” will be made, each representing a blend of AMG’s engineering with cinematic appeal. Each car comes with a customised AMG Indoor Car Cover, designed to protect the vehicle from dust and scratches. The cover features a tear-resistant synthetic fibre exterior and a soft, antistatic flannel interior. Every detail, from the unique paintwork to the special badge, reminds you that you’re looking at something very rare and special.

Brad Pitt’s Formula 1

The car is deeply connected to the film “F1”, which tells the story of a retired Formula 1 driver, played by Brad Pitt, who returns to the grid with the fictional APXGP team. Damson Idris plays his young teammate. The film was shot during real Grand Prix weekends, with full support from Formula 1®, FIA, and all ten teams. Real tracks, real cars, and real races set the backdrop for the story.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for “Top Gun: Maverick”, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film boasts a high-calibre cast including Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, and Sarah Niles. The project also involves Lewis Hamilton, who serves as co-producer through his Dawn Apollo Films banner.

The film will be released internationally on June 25, 2025, and in North America on June 27, 2025, with IMAX screenings planned as well.
