New Nissan Tekton Revealed With Two Turbo-Petrol Engine Options

Nissan has officially unveiled the all-new Tekton, a five-seat C-segment SUV developed for India and several international markets. Built on the Alliance CMF-B platform, the Tekton combines Patrol-inspired styling, turbocharged petrol engines and a technology-rich cabin.

The SUV was developed in India in partnership with Renault and will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai. Nissan has confirmed plans to export the Tekton to 50 markets across the Middle East and Africa, making a future UAE launch highly likely.

Nissan Tekton Design

The Tekton takes clear design inspiration from the Nissan Patrol, although it is considerably smaller and aimed at the competitive family SUV segment.

At the front, it features a wide chrome-accented grille, C-shaped five-chamber LED headlamps and a contrasting skid plate. Sculpted body panels, muscular wheel arches, flush roof rails and aerodynamic spoilers give it a stronger road presence than a typical compact crossover.

The rear features connected C-shaped LED tail lamps, a roof spoiler and a piano-black design element called the Majestic Himalayan Crest. The overall design combines traditional Nissan SUV styling with cleaner, more modern details.

Interior & Features

The Tekton receives a driver-focused cabin with beige, burgundy and rose-gold accents. Nissan has used leatherette upholstery, soft-touch materials and stitched trim to give the interior a more premium appearance.

Google built-in allows occupants to use navigation, entertainment and voice-controlled functions without depending entirely on a connected smartphone. The Tekton also offers up to 700 litres of boot capacity. Its 212mm ground clearance should make it suitable for city driving, long-distance journeys and uneven roads.

Nissan Tekton Engine & Transmission

The Tekton will be offered with two turbocharged petrol engines.

Turbo T160

The entry-level T160 uses a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing:

• 100hp
• 166Nm
• Six-speed manual transmission
• Claimed fuel economy of 19.4km/l

Turbo T280

The more powerful T280 uses a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing:

• 163hp
• 280Nm
• Six-speed manual or six-speed wet-clutch DCT
• Electronic gear selector on DCT variants
• Claimed fuel economy of up to 18.5km/l

Both engines feature Nissan’s Mirror Bore Coating technology, which was originally developed for the GT-R. It is designed to reduce internal friction and improve efficiency.

Other driving features include selectable steering assistance, multiple driving modes, tuned shock absorbers and dual anti-roll bars.

Nissan has not confirmed which powertrain will be offered in the UAE. However, the 1.3-litre T280 engine with the dual-clutch automatic transmission would be the more suitable choice for regional customers.

Active & Passive Safety

The Nissan Tekton comes standard with six airbags and a reinforced monocoque body that contains 62% high-strength steel.

Its available active safety and driver-assistance technologies include:

Nissan says the Tekton offers more than 40 standard safety features and over 17 advanced driver-assistance functions on selected variants.

Nissan Tekton UAE Launch & Expected Price

Nissan has not announced an official launch date in the UAE. However, the manufacturer has confirmed that the Tekton was developed based on customer feedback from India, the Middle East, and Africa.

The company has also confirmed that the SUV will be exported to 50 markets across the two regions. Based on this announcement, the Tekton could reach the UAE during the second half of 2026, although the timing remains unconfirmed.

The Nissan Tekton could start at approximately AED 80,000 to AED 85,000 in the UAE, while higher-spec versions may cross AED 100,000. These figures are estimates, and official UAE prices will depend on regional equipment and powertrain choices, as well as distributor positioning.

With Patrol-inspired styling, a practical cabin and modern connected technology, the Tekton could become an important addition to Nissan’s UAE SUV range.
