Audi Volkswagen Middle East supplies Dubai Ambulance services

Late last week, Audi and Volkswagen Middle East provided several vehicles to the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) to support the organisation’s heroic efforts during the current global situation.

The fleet of vehicles supplied from both marques is currently being used to transport critical equipment, medical supplies and meals to team workers and their families residing in the UAE.

Following the launch of the ‘Day for Dubai’ app in March by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, volunteers were given the opportunity to show their support for the community in several ways.

One of those ways was providing additional transport across the UAE to ensure vital resources could still be delivered as the number of deliveries increased following restrictions on traffic and adhering to social distancing practices.

Audi Volkswagen Middle East has stepped in by providing a number of vehicles.

The DCAS team has been working tirelessly on the front lines each day since the global pandemic started and now, with the new vehicles available at their disposable, the organisation can transport critical medical supplies, meals to workers on the ground and vital equipment meaning Ambulances can be reserved for essential and emergencies.

Audi Volkswagen Middle East has provided the following vehicles;

  • Audi Q3
  • Audi Q5
  • Audi Q8
  • Volkswagen Passat
  • Volkswagen Teramont
  • Volkswagen Tiguan
  • Volkswagen Touareg

The Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Khalifa Al-Drai, said: “This is a great example of a company standing side by side to support the safety and wellbeing of fellow members of society. Indeed, the true spirit of the UAE and its people is evident during these exceptional times. These difficult situations cannot compromise the determination that everyone in the UAE holds, and it’s vital that everyone follows official direction from our authorities who selflessly strive to provide the highest levels of security, health and safety for us all.”

Jan Bures, Managing Director of Audi Volkswagen Middle East, said: “It is crucial during times of real adversity, that we come together to face challenges collectively and that is exactly what the launch of ‘Day For Dubai’ has allowed us to do. We feel extremely proud to be providing a fleet of cars to the DCAS, assisting them with delivering food and medical supplies without having to use their own ambulances, ensuring these are reserved for crucial, frontline jobs only. We have witnessed such great initiatives taking place all over the country, and what is clear is that by coming together, we will get through these challenging times, and come through the other side once more.”
