GIMS Qatar 2023: Porsche Mission X & 911 S/T Premiere At Geneva International Motor Show Qatar

German car maker, Porsche showcased their recently revealed Misson X concept electric hypercar at the GIMS Qatar 2023. The Mission X was showcased in the Middle East region for the first time marking its premiere at the motor show. Apart from the concept, Porsche’s pavilion displayed their best petrol and electric production cars: the 911 S/T and the Taycan at the Geneva International Motor Show 2023 in Qatar.

Mission X

Porsche revealed the Mission X on its 75th anniversary back in June 2023. The Mission X is considered the pure-electric successor to the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder. Porsche aims for the Mission X to become the fastest road-legal car on the Nurburgring race track.

Notable exterior features include Le Mans-style doors, a lightweight glass dome with a carbon fibre-reinforced plastic exoskeleton, aero blades on the rear wheels, and a redesigned version of Porsche’s ‘four-point’ light graphic.

The car is equipped with built-in cameras activated by a special record button to capture driving footage. Additionally, a stopwatch module can be attached to the instrument panel for recording lap times or driving data.

The Mission X is an electric hypercar concept with rear-wheel drive and a high-performance electric powertrain potentially offering over 1,500hp. Complete technical details are yet to be revealed. However, Porsche aims to achieve a power-to-weight ratio of 1hp per kg and surpass the downforce levels of the current 911 GT3 RS. The anticipated production car based on the Mission X is expected around 2027, following the timelines of previous Porsche concepts.

911 S/T

The name 911 S/T is derived from the 1969 911 S, which was internally designated as the 911 ST. The initial 911 ST brought about notable improvements to the chassis, wheels, engine, and body, thereby enhancing overall performance. The 911 S/T boasts various exclusive features on this limited-edition sports car. The S/T is propelled by a 4.0-litre flat-6 boxer engine coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox. Here are more details of the Porsche 911 S/T.
