New Variable Parking Charges In Dubai To Take Effect From 4th April 2025

We reported earlier that Dubai’s new variable parking charges will take effect in April 2025. Parkin, the official parking operator, is rolling out a revised tariff system with peak and off-peak rates. The changes include increased rates for premium parking spaces in high-demand areas to improve accessibility and traffic flow.

Peak Hour Charges To Increase

During peak hours (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM), parking fees will rise to AED 6 per hour in high-demand areas. These premium parking spaces are located near public transport hubs, business districts, and major shopping centres, providing convenience in congested zones. Premium Parking Zones Defined

Premium parking areas have been identified based on:

• Proximity to metro stations (within 500 metres)
• High occupancy levels during peak times
• Location in dense commercial districts

The new variable parking charges in Dubai were originally planned for a March rollout. They were announced alongside changes to Salik toll gate pricing in November 2024. However, they will officially come into effect on the 4th of April 2025.

Public Parking Zones and New Pricing Breakdown

Dubai’s parking system is divided into four zones: A, B, C, and D.

Zone A: Standard On-Street Parking

Standard fees:

• 1 hour: AED 4
• 2 hours: AED 8
• 3 hours: AED 12
• 4 hours: AED 16

Premium parking fees:

• Peak hours: AED 6 per hour
• Off-peak hours: AED 4 per hour
• 3 hours: AED 18 peak / AED 12 off-peak
• 4 hours: AED 24 peak / AED 16 off-peak

Zone B: Off-Street Parking

Standard parking fees:

• 1 hour: AED 4 peak / AED 3 off-peak
• 2 hours: AED 8 peak / AED 6 off-peak
• 3 hours: AED 12 peak / AED 9 off-peak
• 4 hours: AED 16 peak / AED 12 off-peak
• Flat daily rate: AED 30

Premium parking fees:

• 1 hour: AED 6 peak / AED 3 off-peak
• 2 hours: AED 12 peak / AED 6 off-peak
• 3 hours: AED 18 peak / AED 9 off-peak
• 4 hours: AED 24 peak / AED 12 off-peak
• Flat daily rate: AED 40

Zone C: On-Street Parking

Standard fees:

• 1 hour: AED 4 peak / AED 2 off-peak
• 2 hours: AED 8 peak / AED 5 off-peak
• 3 hours: AED 12 peak / AED 8 off-peak
• 4 hours: AED 16 peak / AED 11 off-peak

Premium fees:

• 1 hour: AED 6 peak / AED 2 off-peak
• 2 hours: AED 12 peak / AED 5 off-peak
• 3 hours: AED 18 peak / AED 8 off-peak
• 4 hours: AED 24 peak / AED 11 off-peak

Zone D: Off-Street Parking

Standard parking fees:

• 1 hour: AED 4 peak / AED 2 off-peak
• 2 hours: AED 8 peak / AED 4 off-peak
• 3 hours: AED 12 peak / AED 5 off-peak
• 4 hours: AED 16 peak / AED 7 off-peak
• Daily rate: AED 20

Premium parking fees:

• 1 hour: AED 6 peak / AED 2 off-peak
• 2 hours: AED 12 peak / AED 4 off-peak
• 3 hours: AED 18 peak / AED 5 off-peak
• 4 hours: AED 24 peak / AED 7 off-peak
• Daily rate: AED 30

Congestion Pricing For Major Events

In addition to these changes, Dubai will introduce new variable parking charges for high-traffic event zones such as the Dubai World Trade Centre. From February 2025, public parking near these venues will charge AED 25 per hour during exhibitions, festivals, and conferences to better manage demand.
