What does a Nissan Juke and Nissan GT-R have in common besides that they come from the same manufacturer? Well nothing really, one’s a crossover with a 1.6 litre 4-cylinder engine generating 188 horsepower and the other is a fire breathing monster with a V6 turbocharged 3.8 litre churning out 545 horsepower and flying from 0-100 around the 3 second mark. See they’re two completely different cars, but wait what’s this Nissan Juke R 2.0?

592HP Nissan Juke-R 2.0Besides from looking pretty much identical to a standard Juke on the outside, it’s what’s inside the engine bay that makes the difference. Dropped in there is a V6, 3.8 litre turbocharged petrol engine good for 592 horsepower and sends power to all-four wheels. 592 horsepower, just let that sink in.. that’s 42 hp more than a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. I wonder where they got that from (Cough… Nissan GT-R Nismo… cough). With this power unit, the Juke R can do 0-100 in the 3 second region or below and can reach a top speed of over 320 km/h. Thats a quick as a Ferrari 458 Italia!

Some minor tweaks have been added to the Juke-R 2.0’s exterior compared to standard. For example headlights and rear lights, front grille, wing mirrors with indicator lights, a two-piece spoiler and a new hood. Ok so the tweaks might be higher than “minor” as it now has a carbon fibre front and rear end, fender flares and the same wheels as the GT-R.

Paddle shifters have been added to the steering column and work with the six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. There is no mention if standard features are retained. It’s not a long shot to guess air-conditioning, radio tuner with CD player and media inputs are still available.

If you looking at getting one of these absolutely bananas crossover you’ll have to be quick about it. Nissan is reportedly only building 23 of them. Six have already been completed with one already being delivered to a customer. It would be great to see someone’s face after a drag race at the lights when they get smoked by a Juke, I could imagine them being quite disgruntled.

592HP Nissan Juke-R 2.0Nissan Juke-R 2.0’s will be built in the United Kingdom, all are made by hand and are a long process to endure, that may explain the price. Two colours have been shown off to choose from, one is matte black and the other is white.

On a similar note, the Nissan Juke Nismo R has wheeled its way into the records book by completing the “fastest time on two wheels” at Goodwood’s Festival of Speed, where the Nissan Juke-R 2.0 also made its debut.

Another video has popped up recently with the Juke-R 2.0 drag racing against its compatriot, the Nissan GT-R Nismo, it’s a close one thats for sure.

If you have the money for it but miss out on actually owning one, you can purchase 28 standard Jukes for the same price instead!
