The world’s first colour-changing BMW car is here

The BMW that’s been clogging up our social media feeds is no passing trend. The first-of-its-kind, the BMW iX Flow uses electronic ink technology, to combine black, white and grey, to create a stunning set of graphics across the surface of the body of the car.

The concept proves there are limitless possibilities for the exterior of our cars, with a range of colours and patterns on the cards in the near future. Currently, you can change the colour of the car with an app, but future tech suggests you’ll be able to do it with a wave of your hand… Slick!

Debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, it already has mass appeal. Locally, Dubai’s social media car-preneur whizz Supercar Blondie was one of the first to have in-person access to the vehicle and her post was shared by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai – The royal seal of approval.

How much does it cost?

Reports suggest a top of the range iX M60 with all of the good stuff could top over AED700,000, the price of an iX Flow is still TBC.

The jury has yet to confirm the date you’ll see it zipping down SZR.
