Summary

This BMW 325i represents the sought-after E90 generation, offering a pure driving experience that has become increasingly rare. With its naturally aspirated inline-six engine and rear-wheel-drive setup, it delivers the balanced handling and linear power delivery that defined the brand for decades. At 20 years old, this example shows mileage consistent with gentle secondary use rather than the heavy commuting typical of many older GCC-based sedans. The Blue exterior provides a timeless look that remains popular in the local market, while the Japanese-spec origin often signals a vehicle that has spent its early years in a milder climate with strict inspection standards. For the enthusiast buyer, this is an opportunity to own a mechanical icon that balances daily practicality with genuine driver engagement.

This Car vs Other 2006 325is

With 153,000 km on the odometer, this 325i has averaged roughly 7,650 km per year, which is exceptionally low for the GCC market where 20,000 km is the annual norm. The Blue paint is a strong choice for the UAE, offering better heat management than black while maintaining a higher resale appeal than less traditional colors. As a Japanese-spec import, it typically benefits from having avoided the extreme peak temperatures of the Gulf during its formative years.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The 325i trim serves as a significant mechanical step up from the entry-level 320i, replacing the four-cylinder engine with the legendary N52 inline-six for substantially smoother power delivery. This specific model features standard 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic climate control, upgrades that are essential for maintaining cabin comfort during the UAE summer. It also includes the refined 6-speed Steptronic transmission, offering better highway cruising efficiency than the base models.

325i vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class or Audi A4 of the same era, the 325i stands out for its superior weight distribution and steering feedback, making it the preferred choice for those who enjoy the drive. Its 63-litre fuel tank offers a significant cruising range for long stretches between emirates, such as the Dubai to Abu Dhabi commute. While rivals often utilized smaller turbocharged engines, the BMW's naturally aspirated six-cylinder provides a more reliable and characterful performance profile.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L engine typically settles around 9.0 L/100km in combined driving, though GCC city traffic may see this rise toward 12.9 L/100km. Parts availability remains excellent across the UAE and the wider GCC due to the massive popularity of the E90 chassis, with numerous specialized service centers available in every major city. While European sedans of this age follow a steeper depreciation curve than Japanese brands, the 325i maintains a dedicated following that helps stabilize its value at the 20-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 218 hp output allows for a respectable 0–100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds, ensuring confident overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. Its rear-wheel-drive architecture and finely tuned suspension provide a level of stability and poise that modern commuters often lack. The top speed is electronically limited to 242 km/h, though the car is most impressive for its mid-range torque which makes city driving effortless.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the driver, featuring a five-seat layout with high-quality materials that have historically resisted the intense UV exposure of the region well. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, ensuring that both front and rear passengers remain cool during peak summer months. The sedan body type provides 460 litres of boot space, making it a practical choice for small families or executive use.

Safety

This 325i comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including front, side, and curtain airbags as standard. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) provide vital assistance on sand-dusted road surfaces or during rare rain events. The E90 generation was noted for its structural rigidity, earning high safety marks that provide peace of mind for daily driving in high-speed GCC traffic.

The bottom line

This is a well-preserved enthusiast sedan for the buyer who values classic BMW mechanical purity and lower-than-average mileage in a stylish, usable package.
